Starting in the Feel Good Garden polytunnel, it's time for a tidy up to make room and prepare the bed for the tomatoes. Although I have grown a few from seed, only one tomato plant survived from my first sowing and my second sowing are rather small. Luckily I have kind and generous allotment plot neighbours who came to the rescue including Danny@thegrowup channel.
I did a soil test using Universal PH Indicator
Papers to determine if we needed to add lime or not.
I show you 2 useful watering gadgets to reach under the shelves in the polytunnel. I tidy up before digging the soil and digging in some manure compost.
I plant out some Helenor swede plants to plant amongst the beetroot plants already planted. Doug is busy making a framework for the runner French Beans.
Next I plant out Cabbages on the Feel Good Garden plot 2. They are Greyhound Cabbage and Red Cabbage.
Back in allotment plot 1 I use a dibber to plant more lettuce plants. To help combat slugs I use Karlston Organic Slug pellets and Spray. The slug pellets are just oregano and both are kind to plants and wildlife.
I thought the Chard and Beetroot that I left run to flower would look pretty but they didn't so I cut them back to tidy them up.
We've been having problems with rats on the allotment. They are living underneath the leaf mould pile and compost heap. I try to move them on with some Karlston Rat Off peppermint oil granules. Apparently rats don't like peppermint oil so they usually move on and away from it. Fingers crossed it'll work and they move on.
The forget me not plants have mainly gone to seed so I pull them all out to tidy up the patio and pond area.
Back on Feel Good Garden plot 2 and I plant up an old wheelbarrow kindly given to me by Danny @thegrowupchannel with some pretty flowers. Most of them were bought at the garden centre in Brecon.
Jonny and Emma kindly gave us a rhubarb plant from their new allotment plot. I plant it next to our own rhubarb plants on plot 2.
We are so lucky with our water taps they are right next to our allotment plots.
Thank you for watching, liking my video and subscribing. I really do appreciate it.
Love from Linda ❤
