@@Zayju2k it’s holding up pretty good still. I won’t lie I haven’t been doing the best keeping up with maintenance but despite that it’s still going strong. Would definitely recommend it as a first car, it’s very reliable and it hasn’t given me much issues besides a bad battery.

@@typicallife9386 mines started leaking too. I put some of that power steering fluid that says stops leaks and it actually worked. Give it a try it might help too, it still leaks from time to time but not as much.

Nobody ever talks about 2nd gen TLs. I bought a Pearl White 01 a couple months ago, and it’s super reliable. I personally love how the rear looks on the 2nd gens

I've always loved the 2nd gens also. They hold a special sore spot in my heart ever since back in 2011 when I bought a blue with black interior 2003 Type S. It had 114k miles, just past the extended factory warranty for the transmission that Acura offers which is 109k i think. Guess what was broken?. Thats why no one ever talks about em because the transmissions were horribly unreliable. Ruined what was a really good looking and decently quick car back when it was new. I took it back to the small dealership i got it from within 48 hours and got a full refund after it popped out of gear while my wife was driving it and threw a check engine code for the transmission. 😭

​​@@iamatlantis1I lucked out on my 04 Accord V6 and bought it at 109k miles a few years ago the auto transmission was ok but felt like it was starting to slip a little. I changed out the fluid a few times as well as that little filter that Honda never tells you about (in that little compartment that is underneath the air filter box) and it shifts almost perfectly now. I guess I lucked out. I am not sure why so many of these transmissions were bad. Maybe they just couldn't handle the awesome power of the j-series? Sucks because these were great cars in every other aspect. If you wanted something more reliable I guess you could have gotten a Lexus ES but I don't think there's as big of a following for those. Even the TSX wasn't as popular as these TLs. And in the enlarged bulbous later generation from 09-12 was just ok but looked and felt more like a commuter car than a sporty-ish car. The TLX was the same until they finally just recently released the new Type S varient which honestly doesn't have me feeling as excited as I was for the older Type S models. I guess I'm just old school and prefer the classic road+motor engagement of old school Hondas.

Standing out the most doesn’t necessarily mean the best. I liked yours and the blue one with the cdm tails the most. And if I had to pick a stance one it would be the blue one with the gerzy bumper and vented hood

So my car ( djdh617ua ) is a 05 6speed, that comes with the Brembo brakes, I do I have the 07 front with mirrors painting the 05 colors, it has the 07 steering wheel wrapped .. and some goodies under the hood

so i have a 2007 acura tl has been lasting me a while. 195,000 miles. a few issues but can be fixed for under 1,000. i like these upgrades. is it worth it to keep and upgrade or is the mileage too high?

I just replaced my front and rear door panels with black ones but I cannot find a new black replacement carpet for these things. I can find a $2,000 dollar brand new dash but not any black carpet replacements.

Always wanted a TL but I heard the automatic transmissions are hit or miss. I have an Accord V6 so closest thing I can get to it.

04-06 is a bit weaker than the 07-08. But most of the transmission issues are from owners that neglect the proper maintenance

@@thecarfiend11 Not to mention finding a clean one is getting to be much harder as time goes on. 90% of the ones I see on dealer lots or private parties are beat to crap and half of the leather on the seats are gone if not just badly torn up.

Manual 04-06 TL's come with brembos. All 3rd gen TL typeS comes with brembos. If it's not a TL typeS, then it's a base 👍
