Great video. Too bad about losing the chamois. In February, 1972, I shot a fallow buck in open tussock rugged alpine in the Paparoa Range, at 30 yards with my .303, in its chest, and it took off running, out of sight, and my mate and I followed it, found plenty of blood and even a bit of bloody bone from its front leg, but after a while the blood trail dried up, and despite searching the open places and gullies on those tops for an hour, we never did find that buck. Fortunately we did shoot and recover two other fallow deer that day. But, how that initial buck got away (and probably died in some obscure little gully very near us) and we did not find it after a thorough and prolonged search, remains a mystery to this day.

Tough luck not finding the Chamois. I have shot big boars in the NT with a similar set up and they hardly go 20m
