Love the ideas and your enthusiasm my friend. I need to make a couple of 10 ft shelves to put plants on around the outer handrail of a deck coming out about 2 ft. I'm sitting here looking at the insane prices of plywood and said hail no, I'll figure something else out. I've got tons of bamboo I planted a long time ago for privacy from a neighbor. It never occurred to me to split it and use it like this. You've just saved the day here my friend and now I'm bout to get crazy with some bamboo, yew!

If you soak it under borax solution for several days before drying, it will apparently last much longer. I believe that untreated you will only get a couple of years use compared to potential lifetime use.

Guaranteed that entire camp is a compost pile by now, six years later, if he had treated it and done it right, it would stand for 20 years, but this was hard to watch, so much effort, all done wrong.

Thats how you do it! We made all of our Halloween decorations with palm husks. Painted a bunch white and made the house a mouth. We made witches, ghosts, a big witch hand coming out of the ground. 20 bucks of paint and we have enough to do the next two Halloweens.

Are you referring to Irma when you say hurricane? We had Ian in Sept 22 and it was incredible. This year 2023, we had almost zero ran in 3 months. Last year we had over 15 inches by March 24. I grow a lot of B. Vulgaris but I have some Aspers and a few Dendrocalamus Sinicus, and D. Longinternode. They are from seed and about 4 years old started in 2019. Seeds are from a bamboo nursery in China. Yunnan bamboo. The vulgaris is from local source.
