@@zainaxmalik absolutely was the whole point of that scene, they set viewers up to think he was a vampire with the being invited in bit, but clearly dispelled it a few episodes later by having him standing in broad daylight in a parking lot without his ring on. The ring is being set up as an object of interest and another "its a family heirloom" mystery, but they proved without a doubt that it ISN'T a daylight ring.

Keep in mind, Damon and Stefan are both 171 years old roughly, this Pizza Vampire was about the same age, maybe a few years younger, we cannot determine but they're close to the same age, 2 171 Vampires vs 1 Vampire around the same age is pretty easy to neutralize when you have the same power. It gets more complex with Vampires 500+, 1000+

SPOILERS: It is revealed next episode, she's at least 540+, younger than her mother and Katherine, but we see her next episode in the flashback with her mother and Katherine already as Vampires, since Vampires are infertile we know Pearl must've had Anna before she became a vampire, so Anna's age since she is suppposed to be relative teen in human years is closest to 540. We also see this when Damon gets the drop on him she's almost easily unfazed able to twist his arm and get him off of her. @@beatyz2

@@TheBrookelynChick I get the ring is supposed to be a misdirect, and a few episodes ago when Jenna doesn't invite him in but come on. The first sign showing otherwise was after Alaric staked Logan, he had an internal monologue about his years of research and study and how he "finally found one," implying his knowledge that vampires exist and that this was his first time knowingly encountering a vampire. Then there's the flashback to him seeing Damon kill his wife. Back then he wouldn't have known it was a vampire, he would've probably assumed it's a crazy cannibalistic murderer. Based off this information, simple deduction would lead to the conclusion that he's here to find the vampire that killed his wife. And in this episode he's literally holding Vervain. It should be pretty obvious at this point. But yeah I'm investing too much into this LOL it's not that deep 😆
