I’ve had mine now for three months and absolutely love it. It constantly gives between 66 and 76 mpg and is great fun to drive. As for the price we in the UK are paying $42000 and that is not on the road price! Plus it doesn’t include a sun roof or rear courtesy light!. Go and drive it you won’t be disappointed.

The front seat is much much more comfy than the rear seat. And yeah, there is something weird protruding under the drivers seat and it fouls with the foot room

The swift is a fake hybrid with a 12volt and 2.3kw electric motor, equivalent to two house blenders and about 5% of the power of the motor on this car.

Mg3 hybrid essence plus metallic paint is $33,200 drive away. They have just shot themselves in the foot for this car. Yes it's miles better then the old one but people buy these cars because of the price.

Yeah, it’s a bit strange how they went from a four speed transmission to a three speed transmission but does the non-hybrid ones have a three speed transmission or the four speed transmission Or something else

regular petrol has a cvt as mentioned in the review

regular petrol is 1.5l with CVT, and the 3 speed is 3 speed DHT, different from normal 3 speed AT transmission and e-cvt. DHT= Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, they don't need that 6AT or 8AT is because when below 80km/h, they are powered by the electric motor, which don't need a Transmission there.

The transmission is not used for lower speeds, hence the need for only 3 gears. It is a very efficient car

What an excellent review. I am in awe of your communication skills! MG have definitely stepped up the standard of the MG3... but they have also stepped up the price (a *minimum of $30,490 d/a* for the hybrid). One question: If the 1.83kWh battery is doing so much of the heavy lifting, how long will it last? It will be churning through charge cycles quite rapidly, which can't be great for longevity. Also, the electric motor is supplying a peak of 100kW... which - from a fully charged battery... it can only sustain for just over 1 minute. That's good for a quick 0-100 km/h sprint, but less good for a more serious drive.

suggested means you need 95 for the best performance, doesn't mean 91 will hurt the engine. You can safely use 91, just lose some power.
