When your eating salted fish, use white vinegar (with raw garlic - 2 cloves) as a dip to remove the saltiness of the fish. As an alternative, I eat fresh cucumber in vinegar (mix sugar and pepper) and use the sauce and cucumber to balance out the salt from the dried fish. You can also use tomatoes if you don't have cucumbers.

Purchasing your veggies in the local dry markets would let you choose cheaper ingredients. Most filipinos go to the palengke (local markets) to get fresh goods at a more affordable prices. Happy to see you enjoying your time here so far 😀. I am new to the channel and I hope I get to see more from you!

To reduce too much saltiness of Tuyo, soak in water for a minute or two, then wash under the faucet. Pat dry with paper towel. Then cook. SIGA means toughie/strong, in that case it's spicy. strong.

Making champorado I highly recommend using Ricoa/cocoa powder brand or if possible tableya native Filipino cocoa. Cook it with half regular rice and half Malagkit/glutenous rice, muscovado sugar and Carnation evaporated milk with tuyo as side dish. Masarap❤️❤️❤️

That Magnolia butter you bought was cheap, if it is 100% real butter. I went shopping two days ago and store brand [Kroger] butter was $4 for a 1-pound box of 4 sticks of butter. A dozen large eggs was $2.

Yes, still very reasonable indeed :) Wow, butter seems more expensive in US but the price for eggs is again good compared to Europe :)

Prices are going up nowadays because of inflation and shortages. If you happen to shop in the public market for your vegetables, it is cheaper.
