For people like her, her "family" and promises are a priority. Now I might rewatch the entire John Wick's series, that was amazing

Actually, they are family indeed. Ettore Montelli has the same surname as hers ( Carlotta Montelli ) and it was written in the official reveal that she’s the second daughter of the Montelli Family. So, it’s not a mafia-like family. It’s a real family. In the livestream it was shown that the Montelli are also part of the government ( which is Venice-inspired ), so it’s probably not a mafia but some kind of power struggle between political factions Though their methods may be Mafia-esque.

heres something really interesting, carlotta’s design is actually camellya’s original design but with different headwear and outfit but similar color scheme and same hairstyle and hair color camellya’s design was altered and they simply reused her old design for carlotta was tweaked her outfit to be more fitting for rinascita’s culture
