as someone who carries my sketchbook everywhere, they get banged up and knocked over ALL the time. i think this would be a fun project to do AFTER you finish up a sketchbook! especially for artists who keep their sketchbooks, i think it'd be neat to do this to each one after it's completed. you can even theme it according to what is in the sketchbook
@mrsneeze9034 жыл бұрын
perfect idea yeah it can definitely end up getting banged up pretty quick sliding around in bags and whatnot so yeah probably best to do it when it's done or if you don't take it anywhere and store it safely

I literally just linked someone the video of your other sketchbook cover yesterday! Been watching since the first few sculptures, absolutely love seeing how the shelf behind you in your intro started out bare but is now filled with so many cool sculptures. The way you make eyes like in this one, is just absolute perfection and I love the creepy stuff a lot in general. Keep up the great work! I also tried Super Sculpey for the first time a while ago, inspired by your sculptures! I have only ever used Fimo before but that Super Sculpey feels so good in my hands and blends so well, I think I like it more...

This was my favorite piece he’s made thus far. I really enjoyed this book cover because the details- the whispy fabric as the eye veins, the multiple layers of washes, the eye lid creases. And I am BEYOND happy that he really evened out the texture of the cover with the clay softener. Simple but executed amazingly. Much love ❤️

With regard to the final presentation moments of the piece, when you wheel it around and shine different for lights on it, it might be a good idea for you to have a dark to dim to bright transition, perhaps slowly pulling the piece into a super soft light, out of darkness.

This is really great and SO CLOSE to what I'm looking for. I'm trying my hand again at the Hocus Pocus Spellbook. My first try was a present to my son. I even tea-stained paper and had a lot of content (learned about book binding as well!). I was hoping you had made it and I could get a much better product the second time around. This may be as close as I get UNLESS you PLEASE made a video on how you would make the Hocus Pocus Spellbook--that would be SUPER. I used air-dry clay for my pieces (it was the first time ever working with clay) and I regretted it because the darn pieces kept breaking and cracking. I now know I should have used baked clay instead thanks to your videos. I really love all your "creepy" characters you've made and while I don't hope to be NEARLY as good as you (quite doubtful indeed), I am sure anything will be a step up from my last attempt. Do please consider making the book as I think you'll do the best one yet out here in cyberspace (and it would be SUPER HELPFUL for me!). Thanks!

Hi. Love your work. Bit of a note to help on the eyes for a bit more realistic look. The iris of an eye is rarely completely exposed. It is almost always covered at the top and bottom by the eye lids. More on the top and less at the bottom.

First off this: just awesome. Secondly. How difficult do you think it'll be to have each little patch of skin that's been stitched together, be a different skin tone? It could really help with the illusion it's been sewn together. I'd love to see it if you did this again!

I've watched this video a bunch of times, and I still think this is one heck of a book cover, and the staples were a brilliant idea Anthony. Nicely done. But if it's like my art books, it will end up grubby on the cover and knocked off the table at least a few times, so maybe theme the book with a cover after you've filled it up. This was not my idea alone, I see a bunch of other folks thought of it too.
