Hey Tim! Haha you’d be surprised… China actually leads the world in terms of volume and tech for batteries now. These digitally controlled reels are just the beginning as well… there’s way more options that will be coming soon whether we like it or not. As far as US retailers price hiking… I certainly hope not as the asking price is already quite high imho… cheers my friend!

AND wait for you to review it. some yuoutubers are obviously pushing certain products based on their relationship with the company and not based on their actual opinions/objective facts.

Hey upstreamer! Yea $249 is still not cheap but it is much cheaper than the dbc-2 model price tag of $339. Still not cheap but it’s a fully CNCd round reel with a digital braking system so while I also don’t like the high price it’s somewhat justified. Hey Abel! Yea, the app is super powerful and has some awesome features but the implementation isn’t the most intuitive and I had some major gripes about it… That said, I do miss some of those features like EM assist. I had wanted to try BFS but went to spinning due to it being easier but I got this reel as my first BFS so hope it does well. Were you able to put it out on the water and your thoughts about it now?

I have had some gripes with this reel but it could be that the issues are specific to just my copy. Imho, if you can return the reel I’d suggest you look at the Purelure/DMK silver feather miiec exa that i just reviewed. I’ve been far more impressed with that reel vs this. As far as your question is concerned, I don’t have any concrete dates but I know that loongze plans on releasing a few more models before they get to their “bfs” reel’s production. I think they have two or three models slated to be released before they get to it. The good news is that I was told it might only be a couple months but who knows… timelines always seem to fluctuate and change. Cheers my friend!

The spool is almost 3g lighter than B100's one, so I hope that it can handle very small lures(under 1g..) better! Plz tell us casting impressions! :)

Hey keun! Will do! I did a bit of backyard casting and I wasn’t too enthused with the sub 1g casting performance sadly… I think the reel really needs the EM assist feature to excel at that. I need to do some more cast testing and get some use before I can speak more to its overall casting performance. Cheers my friend!

@@HCBCHEMISTRY hey hcb! you may find casting dry flys to be difficult or nearly impossible. However, if you want to cast weighted flies or nymphs that might definitely be doable as they are essentially tiny weighted jigs. If you are comfortable with order off of aliexpress, I would suggest taking a look at the purelure silver feather air or silver feather elite reels. I have found them to be extremely capable and can cast 0.56g lures quite well. Please keep in mind that your distances are going to likely be 20-30ft distance and extremely affected by wind. Just need to keep your expectations based in reality =). Hope that helps and cheers my friend!

Wanted to let you know about the Doviello HICC50 and how low of a weight lure I could cast with the deep spool . I put it on a sougayilang 6ft ul rod (1/16-3/8) with about 100 yards of Berkley 6lb floro. (I turned the reel handle 110 times) and the lightest lure was a rapala #7 original floater which I casted about 20 yards (I'm 6ft 4in)out of 3 cast one was 18 ,20 and 23 paces.I hope this will help others who were interested .

Hey tohae! Yes this reel is much smaller in size than the B100 DBC airlite. The sideplate alone is a good deal smaller and this is more in line with how a low profile reel palms in hand. They did a good job with the size reduction imho. Cheers my friend!

Hey Mrmala! The swap was easy and the knobs were from a gomexus handle. I believe they are carbon fiber knobs and I can’t quite recall the sizing on the silver feather handle knob shafts as to whether they’re daiwa or Shimano style setups. Cheers my friend!
