So SPC Import is a thing now...

Check this out. This only works on certain games that use the same music playback engine. But for the games it does load, you can study the code and see what decisions the music programmers made. This also means Instrument Packer SPCs work too... More on that tomorrow...!

I don't know where Goplat is right now but he should be proud of being such a visionary. Even with custom instruments present in the ROM, everything worked really well with no code changes! Once we started being able to do that, the first fixes were pretty easy. I'm in awe that people are still maintaining this lovely program to this day
