Lets just forget about the political crap and the hate/smear campaign being waged against Emily and just admit that Dead Sara rocks and Emily is a bad ass.

Went down the DeadSara rabbit hole and loved every second of it. Emily is a f'ing beast and I can't wait until she settles in with LP and unleashes it for them.

She's 100% put in the work for 20 years. She deserves Linkin Park. As a LP fan since the beginning I' am 100% behind her and the band.

Imo She is a great fit into Linkin Park. People judged her so fast without even looking themselves about her past. Yeah she has a picture in Scientology party that was 11 years ago and she went to first hearing of Masterson who she thought was a good guy because they were friends but she listened to what was said and never talked to him or went to other court dates. She was born into Scientology not joined them and if you look what Scientology goes against and what Emily does/writes lyrics about you can clearly see she doesn't agree with their mindset she wrote a lot about mental probles/issues in her songs and is publicly gay both those things are ahainst Scientology beliefs. People who don't even like her as a new lead want to speak out about it but people who leave Scientology and speak about it get targeted by them (there is a lot of cases that they get harassed in public pets get killed even people close to those who speak about it get harassed) and there is a lot of people like her who didn't push Scientology on others and left them silently without big fuss and lives calm life.

Damn be careful throwing people those facts. Well said! This makes me want to listen to Dead Sara now and really think about the lyrics as they might pertain to Emily. I really love her already and feel like I can form a new attachment just like I had to Chester. Even just with The Emptiness Machine, Mike claims he wrote it before Emily was asked to sing it/before she joined if I recall correctly but they've been friends for 5 years already and, thinking about her history the lyrics even make sense with that as well. Great music has multiple interpretations in every line of the lyrics, whether its about trauma, moving on, rising up above your past, etc, and thats what Linkin Park has always been about. "I know exactly how this ends, I let you cut me open just to watch me bleed. Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be. Don't know why I'm hoping, so fucking naive!" Doesn't this sound like Emily being mad at having to be raised in that, with the dangers of deserting (just like any religion, publicly denouncing is BAD), ESPECIALLY with how much FURY she sings with???

Not only harassed, but emotionally abused in other ways. Scientology has this concept they call "suppressive persons", where the higher-ups in the church determine who counts as "suppressive" and make broad declarations about that list to their members. Scientology teaches its followers that "suppressive persons" are antisocial and miserable, but moreso, that *just being around them* makes *you* antisocial and miserable, and at risk of becoming a "suppressive person" yourself. The only ways to avoid a life of misery, they teach, are to "help them stop being suppressive" (i.e. convert them to Scientology) or to cut ties altogether. Full radio silence ghosting, because even *talking* to them could make you miserable and suppressive. Which means, of course, that if she has family and friends who still believe in the tenets -- which is entirely possible, given that her parents brought her into the church in the first place, and she's been part of it for years -- they will fully abandon her in every possible way if she gets declared "suppressive". In other words, through just their teachings alone, if she publicly upsets the church authorities, they can literally take her entire family and all childhood friends away from her with a single word. So, yeah. Anyone saying "if she doesn't publicly speak out against Scientology, then we should assume she's a monster" doesn't realize what they're asking of her. (By the way, a little historical trivia: the concept of "suppressive persons" didn't exist at the beginning of Scientology. It wasn't until the church started getting popular, and more people coming in meant more people calling BS on it, that Hubbard introduced the idea as a way to prevent his work from collapsing. It's literally born of his insecurity, as a "this *can't* fail, my followers *can't* have their minds changed against me, they *need* to stay!" panic response. I guess you might consider that a bit... neurotic, eh? Guess he just needed more auditing 😂)

Long time Dead Sara fan here. Softer side of Emily's voice: Sorry for It All (Kimmel or the Troubador versions, if you want live), For You I Am (Troubador live), the Christmas song, Snow In Los Angeles, or Anybody (stripped). Sunset Sessions extended live version of Weatherman shows Emily's screaming stagecraft and Eddie Vedder stage climbing homage from back in the day in front of what looks like a minimal number of industry execs (2012 video). Lemon Scent and Unamerican (political song) for the heavier side. I'm so glad the LP gig is shining some light on the DS catalog as they're a really good band. Thx for the reactions! (Oh, forgot to say I vote for Sorry For It All next!)

Never eard about her before , except for a duet she did with Dexter from The Offspring a long time ago. But never care cause here in Portugal nobody spoke or play Dead Sara in the radio. So forgot about it. When i eard her now in LP, there was an instant clik: i loved her since the 1 st moment. I really really love her voice. Shame that bands like these (so good) are not known in other countries. Thank God Mike and the guys brought her to LP! She deserves it! She’s a damn GOOD singer! Emily Rocks! ❤️🇵🇹🤘🏻

I tried really hard to like dead sara, but honestly it's just not for me. Too much funk for my taste. I wouldn't have expected her to fit in LP given her work at Dead Sara, to my amateur ears it just sounds too different. BUT I do hear the rasp in her voice even here.
