Same at OBUASI market, the market queens arrange and regulate the food supply chain to decrease supply and increase demand to force the price of food items up! They call the trucks bringing the food items from the hinterlands not to come to create artificial shortage to influence prices upwards. These market queens would position people at Asokwa junction and turn away all cars with food items coming into OBUASI away from bringing the food items to create shortage and thereby increase prices!

The government must send people to the farming villages to buy the foodstuffs and find vantage points to sell to the public.The saddest aspect of it all is that they fail to pay the farmers the actual money.They turn round to tell them they had made loses so they reduce they money drastically.
