This truly is a very, very sad ending. I do remember and was a big fan of Annette in my early years in the US. Those beach movies were classics of the era. Bless her. Thank you for this😘

I remember the Mousekeeter reruns as well. I also remember a short interview on TV when she was in her wheelchair. She was in surprisingly good spirits. Such a trouper!

I am old enough to remember the Mickey Mouse show with Annette. I was 2-3 years old at the time but still can remember watching. (Don’t ask me what I had for lunch yesterday, but I do remember watching it😜).

To this day I can't believe what happened to her. For most of her life she lived a charmed life then MS set in, 1986. What a beauty and so smart. Had 3 beautiful children. Her first husband divorced her! Can you imagine that? Had to be nuts! May she rest in peace, God bless her.

I was born in 77 and remember watching her beach movies on cable in the early eighties. I love Back to The Beach and how she and Frankie were able to make fun of themselves and those old beach films. I always felt she had a unique voice. I remember the day her death was announced and I did not know things were so bad for her in her last year's. I rewatch Back to the Beach yearly in her memory.

I grew up watching Mickey Mouse Club reruns in the 1960's. She was the original Disney star.

Not mentioned was her lifetime friendship with actress Shelley Fabares. They became friends as teens and were best friends. Shelley was at her bedside when she died.

I remember watching reruns of musketeers. I'm pretty sure I saw Monkeys Uncle. Life can be cruel sometimes. Definitely a sad ending for Annette 😢 RIP 💐

Had a tech writing professor that had ms. I resisted contacting her. We weren't close and asking "how's it going D'shae", just didn't seem like something she would want to hear. Because, it has been 20+ yrs and ms doesn't get better. But, my prayers are w/her, D'Shae Lott, Dr Ed, Tx A&M Univ. If anyone would care to light a candle for her...

I remember, in the 70s, they showed those reruns. I did see some of the beach party movies on television. Her appearance in A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes was a bit sad, but kudos to her for doing it.

This was nicely done Steve. Did you ever see her 50s show "Annette"? I used to watch every episode again and again. And of course her beach movies on Saturday afternoons. Okay, I did know about her sad death and how she looked, but I just assumed she was much older. We love you, Annette. ❤😢

Two thoughts: Annette was something special, and you covered her life well. Of the original mouseketeers, my big crush was Cheryl. Yeah, I'm that old. Second, thanks for your great work. So much of what's popping up on youtube lately is AI generated junk, and it's a treat to see your well thought out, well crafted videos show up.

My favorite Mouseketeer was Cheryl Holdridge, but Annette was not only better known but arguably more talented, so I'm not surprised to have the latter get immortalized here first. Perhaps someday Cheryl, who passed away at 64, will be in your spotlight.

@@TheLifeandSadEnding Very good! I'm impressed. Did you know that saying already or did you have to google a Scottish phrase for my benefit? (I'm in Scotland now, but I grew up in NY during the 60s and 70s, so many of the actors you talk about in your videos are more familiar to me than to the average Scottish person my age, a young 70)

I would watch the Mouseketeers every time they were on. We had a small B&W TV. later I watched them in reruns. The most vivid memory is the roll call & the song at the end. Did you ever do a piece on Roy Dodd of the Mousketeer Show?

I watched her on The Mickey Mouse Club and on the Danny Thomas Show, where she played the Italian exchange student Gina. Also saw all of her movies except the last one (didn't like to think of Annette and Frankie being middle-aged!)
