Mother 3 is a great example of Nintendo's copyright nonsense. The game is unavailable on the west, so you can only play the ROM. Its been years since then, and people still prefer that they could buy this game rather than play it for free. Nintendo doesnt just not localize it, they still wage war against emulation.

Yeah, even though MOTHER 3 made it into the Switch, it's very possible that we'll never, ever get the US version...ever. Which is kinda sad because I really wanted to play it so bad... 😔 *sigh* Well, on the bright side, not only do we still have the fan translation on that game, but at least the MOTHER 3 game characters are getting plushies of themselves!

I remember watching a video explaining how it's extremely unlikely Mother 3 will ever be localized due to copyright issues and the like. I really dont think it's a case of "Nintendo doesn't want to." The fan translation exists and hasn't been shut down after so long. At this point I really just think it's a sign.
