Yeah. The hate train on Destiny has always amazed me. In the past few years, he's put forth some of the most well-thought out and well-communicated arguments that I've ever seen on twitch. No matter what he's arguing or whether or not you agree with it, he's always the most reasonable person during a conversation. And this is the real differentiator: he's able to admit that he's wrong if he's presented with a good argument. For everybody to hate him so much, they can't be getting their info from him. In Germany the court decided that a streamer had to be unbanned because they couldn't give the specific reason for the ban. There were other things too that Twitch can't do, but do all the time. In the US it's probably different but here in the EU you could fight these bans.

The main issue is that the rules don't apply to these 'protected' groups. They get to yell and scream and break every rule out there and its fine because they're expressing themselves. A normal person steps out of line just a little bit and the banhammer drives then into the ground deeper than the mines of moria. In the end all it does it makes the protected people others to broader society. Trans people are still seen as weird, gays are sort of but not entirely accepted, and the list goes on. No one trusts a person who has special rules applied to them, and the more this goes on the deeper the divide between normal people and the specials.

I do think twitch is too sensitive and they shouldn't ban people like that. I have stopped using twitch myself. I'm not saying I'm for it but the reason why certain minorities are considering protected from hate then others is because when they are criticized or mistreated it was stronger than somone who is not even for the same insult. Stronger as in things would get violent faster or denied faster to things than somone not in that group. So the rules where made to be more proportional to the effect than what was done. A less extreme example would kind of be like calling a fat person fat hurts more than calling a non fat person fat even if the insult is the exact same. No one is getting banned for saying that but with certain subjects it's been getting too sensitive.

"Hateful conduct" really means "wrong opinion". I think companies like Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, KZbin, etc. shouldn't be allowed to censor opinions, because these services aren't based off of some type of roleplay discussions or whatever. They are based on real thoughts from real people. It's different when playing an RP server in WoW for instance, but that is because the user has a specific part to play that is integral to the service. But these social media platforms are not like this. They do not have a clear atmosphere of how to users should be allowed to talk. To me, the way these platforms are interacted with makes them seem like public spaces, and thus should be protected by the law, especially the freedom of expression.

I don't think destiny will ever get unbanned for 2 main reasons. First is his own fault, he's uncensored and doesn't care, which is why people like him. During a convo with some friends where they all came at me for being interested in neuralink (im a recent grad in electrical engineering working in IC design), saying that i like elon and im a part of the problem (idc about elon im just interested in the tech). Things started to get heated, i tried to drop it but they were demanding i admit im wrong so i felt at the time i had to explain myself. Eventually i got mad and decided id just tell them opinions i had that i knew theyd disagree with (dumb thing to do i know) i told them i thought trans atheletes should compete in a seperate division I knew they wouldnt agree, but i didnt expect the reaction it got. One of them the most liberal got so mad and loudly said "nope" and left going outside. And a bunch of them followed to comfort her These were all friends from highschool. Im in a relationship of 3 years now with someone i met in uni, we are both very similar in terms of how we think. I got a good degree and a good job, and have to interact with alot of people with liberal and conservative views. I try to stay balanced in my beliefs, im very liberal for the most part but i try and critically think about things independantly of the group Only believe in things i can logically justify. Well i cant says the same for my highschool friends, i sent apologies after to no response from some. And full on scolding for being a bigot by others. A few have said im entitled to my views but the group as a whole was united against me. And i dont blame them for siding with the group cause im just 1 guy, lose just me or the rest of the gang. Theres no trade to be made there. It doesnt help most of them havent really gone anywhere, and we were that group in highschool with all weird guys and that one girl everyone had a crush on. I lost weight, went to uni, started dating, and grew outta that. But the rest of them havent all the way into their mid 20s. And at least a couple still are obsessed with the girl. And her being the most offended makes this a lost cause. I hope some of them come around. i couldnt see them a ton but considered them close friends for years. We grew up togather, and its a shame to loose that. Well see, ive reached out, said i was sorry for my part in it. No, this problem had to do with Keffals, and it's probably being upheld bc of Twitch's reliance on Hasan, and Hasan's issue with Destiny. They unban Destiny, politically inclined viewers literally just drop Hasan and his waiting rooms, Denimz and MikePA, so he disappears from the popular streams, and they lose all their grip on the political sphere of their platform.
