8:51 Isn't it true that switching to Major Pentatonic works for the Tonic but NOT for the other two chords?

No. It just changes the shape of the scale at the 5th fret and the feel/vibe. The notes on the fretboard never move and will always work with their matching chord unless you alter the tuning of the open string. If you maintain the minor Pentatonic scale shape and move it to the second fret it becomes the major pentatonic and just changes where the root notes show up in the scale shape.

Yeah I think guitarists can stand to learn a lot from bass players. As a general rule most guitarists play too much, myself included at time!
