He’s good. I thought I read in manual that wheel adjustment is for changing depth of cut not for height of operator. Which is it?

Operator comfort/angle of shaft. If set right the bottom of the gearbox should be just above the surface giving you max depth which is what most people want.

Is it possible to convert a fc91 which I already own, to a straight shaft by buying a fs91 shaft and a straight edger kombi attachment? I don’t understand why the fc91 and fc56 isn’t offered in a straight shaft.

There is a straight shaft version of the FC91 it is the FC96 Yes you could purchase a trimmer drive tube and shaft as well as the Kombi straight edger attachment. Not sure the $250-300 cost makes sense. But it is possible.
