When i left the Army a few years back and first moved here i was clueless about saltwater fishing, i messed around and hooked into one of those 20-25 pounders in the bay on a 3500 size reel. After about 45 minutes i got that dude in, released and dang near passed out on the deck of my boat 😂

Do the jacks have worms like the big drums and what do they tast like I am an army veteran and I am now old and disabled I can't work anymore but I love to go fishing and I have only had the opportunity to go fishing once in 27 years I used to work in a retirement home and then I drove a big truck for some time on the road for three to four months at a time now I live in Florida and am very unfamiliar with anything here I have lived here for 9 years and can't afford to hire a guide but I would truly love to go fishing some before my time is over here signed babblings of a fool I used to write poetry and that is how I signed it thank you for sharing you are very informative and I would rather watch you then a lot of others thanks again for your service and all that you do hoorah

They can sometimes but most I catch do not. They are similar to a tuna but a little more oily, we like to cook them a well done vs rare. They aren't bad, they aren't great.

Are the jacks edible?
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
They are edible, not my favorite fish of all time to eat, but I'd call them an off brand tuna steak haha. Fillet the top loin, add seasoning and sear on both sides like a steak. They're okay.

Cant remember the last cat Ive had on top water. Its hard to beat a fight with a nice Jack with medium gear tho. They give you a workout dont they! Just asking is your boat a Scout 175 Sport? How far do you get offshore? I got the 192 (second hand 13 years old) last week. Still getting used to it - remote control,GPS etc etc. Ive gone 10 miles and seemed easy enough. But just wondered.
@BamaSaltwater3 жыл бұрын
It’s a Scout 177 Sport. I’ve taken it 17 miles out before . It has to be decently calm to not get beat up offshore but it’s doable
@ChewingToons3 жыл бұрын
@@BamaSaltwater Thanks for that. I know the 195 is a little bigger and a 150 engine but most of my fishings inshore. Jetty/Beach/Surf/Grass. But it would be nice to go out in some deeper Blue stuff after some tasty stuff. Gotta give it a try!
@erockscott1184 Жыл бұрын
This is what I kinda like to do...watch others actually catch fish because I don't. The water here in Fort Myers is not exactly where fish wanna be...I dont have a boat so fishing off shore doesn't get me too many results.😢😢😢
