I've been eating this fruit since I was a toddler. I'm looking to start processing the Baobab in Gambia/Senegal and would like to learn more about processing, packing, finding buyers, etc.

thank you very much! all 3 videos are very well done. But there is another way to process the fruit. We will start soon here in Maputo, to produce cream in another way. When we consolidate the process in standard and certificate way, I will invite you to see, or I will send you a video

Thank you for the 3 part videos. Great work you do. I'm interested in processing the oil. Please what's the approximate oil yield per kg of baobab seeds? Thank you
@AfricanPlantHunter
@AfricanPlantHunter 8 ай бұрын
Yield is around 4%. 100 kgs of seed will give you 4kgs of oil.

With regards to advise on milling before depositing in the hopper, should one mill right up to a flour consistency or granules/grits?
@AfricanPlantHunter
@AfricanPlantHunter Жыл бұрын
You will probably find that a flour consistency is a bit too fine, so maybe go for something a little coarser. But I strongly advise you to experiment and find what works best for you!

What machine separates the powdery coat from the seed before processing the seed
@AfricanPlantHunter
@AfricanPlantHunter Жыл бұрын
You need a gentle mechanical process. Don't wash the seeds, as the water will spoil the oil. Any sort of tumble-dryer type machine will do it.
