i was 27 not doing much besides food delivery, strong sales backround of 6 years so i know how to deal and talk with people to an extent, i got into this as a career to fall back on at the very least. started in november and gone through a ton of shit and still dont know alot but, i will succeed and wiill be a bad ass plumber by the time im done. sales made me realize u suck ballz in the begining, and you get what u put into it. We will all get there with a will that cant be killed. oh yeah show up on time and work ur ass off at the right company, you will do great.

People have been saying there's a huge need for new people in the trades as the older guys age out. So I've been cold-calling local plumbing shops and hanging out in the Home Depot plumbing section and parking lots just to see if I can run into a plumber and ask how to get started but it seems like everyone got started by knowing someone. It's like the only way to get in without a hook-up is to go union. Any thoughts? I got your book btw thanks for all your hard work and input.

What city are you in? Man Home Depot parking lots lol that shows dedication man I see your determination and want to help point you in the right direction. The school I went to is called Association Contractors and Builders (ABC) the have different chapters based on where your located, for example I’m in Cali so there’s (ABC SoCal & ABC NorCal) it’s non Union and no experience needed. May be a waitlist and must have a GED. Find out the chapters nearest to you and check them out. Another thing to try is “indeed” or “job Recruiter” or whatever’s popular where you’re from. Look up apprentice plumbing jobs or plumbing jobs with no experience. Also try “people ready” or “tradesman’s international” and see if you can get on as a laborer for a plumbing company and work your way to plumber, if you follow through with these I have no doubt you”lol come up with something. Just be persistent you got this! That’s awesome you downloaded the ebook man I know it will help you along your journey. Best of of luck bro keep me posted 💯

@@LIFE-N-PLUMBING oh nice! I'm over in Irvine. I've been looking into ABC, SCIT, OCETT (for electricians) local 582, and PHCC along with some community college courses but it's all pretty confusing as to what's a certificate, what's actually needed, what's union vs non union. I didn't even know ABC was non union until you told me 😂. I'll def be looking into People Ready and tradesman's international along with some cold calls to local plumbers I talked to on the side of the road a few days ago 😀 I interrupted them in the middle of a service call 😬 but I got their number! 🤞hope something happens with it

@@ItsBeeks lol oh ok I got you. Honestly bro the best way to go will be ABC or union so that you earn as you learn and graduate with a journeyman license. It’s the better paying route and they’ll set you up for success in the long run. They should both be able to walk you through it. 💯

You think 44 is to old to start but not union
@LIFE-N-PLUMBING
@LIFE-N-PLUMBING 4 ай бұрын
Absolutely not! If you feel your up for it, Go for it. Age shouldn’t be your concern, it’s a labor-some job and can get demanding. If you think you’re physically and mentally there who cares about how old you are. You got this! 💯

In my experience and opinion the most important thing to learn is code. I know people who struggle in service because they don’t understand or want to take the time to be learn code. I would definitely go the route that will prepare you and certify you. Joining an apprenticeship will set you up to have options later on down the line. I hope this answers your question. And best of luck 💯 My email is lifenplumbing@gmail.com
