I have a Jaguar etype and am 6'6". I plan on going to a smaller diameter steering wheel and was happy to find this video. One comment though, the distance between the outlines of the different diameters look larger than they should. Could be an illusion. They look larger than 1/2". Great video!

Your video made me go check on B. I have a 13.5 inch wood steering wheel on my 74 B. I'm 6' 2". It's the perfect size for me. I also shortened the shifter 1 1/2 inches, which I also think is perfect. At least for me.

I totally agree with your selection. Leggy guys (or skeeters as we say in TX) can benefit from a little more room in that area. 😉 I am a bit taller from the waist up. And I will be sharing the car with my 5'7" wife.

Just to play Devil's advocate. If ergonomics is the main criteria, how about a 15 in leather bound wheel with a flattened bottom? You could maintain the visibility of the instruments and add some clearance for your knobbly knees! 😁

For what it's worth, Alex, I installed a 14" Tourist Trophy flat wheel in my '74 B. I'm 5'11" and there's scads of room between the wheel and my legs. There's no guage obstruction whatsoever. I'm 70 and I find there's no problem turning that wheel even at slow speeds. But you definately want to go with the flat one.
