I was super surprised with the amount of messages I got from other British people. Looking to move to Germany, well good news is it’s 100% possible. Hopefully you lot choose to come over here, it’s just different now.

I'm sorry that your are lonely. I'm in a similar situation (even though I'm german) and I think many people are. Your videos are really nice and interesting. They give us Germans a new perspective on our country as well as on the UK. :) And to all Brits out there who are thinking about moving to Germany: Come if you can. We need new people and Germans are in general quite welcoming (I hope).

Bureaucracy is a pain in the neck for most Germans as well. And we mostly don't understand that special bureaucratic language that is used in all that needed paperwork. Not even university graduates do unless they have studied law. Also it's the same all over Germany, there are only very slight differences and always depends on the person processing your matter. Good luck, nice to have you here!

Hey Brother how are you :) I know what you mean post Brexit. It aint easy. I just got back from Alicante in Spain. Its a magical place and a combination of many countries I travelled too growing up with an awesome northern European feel too in the Sun. I literally was researching apartments for 3 weeks straight and within 11 days there me and my partner had meeting each and everyday. 3 Lawyers meetings, 2 power of attorney meetings, 3 bank meetings and 2 visitations to the apartment plus a few viewings. Its was totally manic however by the end we managed to get the first step to residency and got a mortgage lined up. We are moving in Sep/October. Its an amazing place and cannot believe we managed to do so much in such a short time. If you decide you want to visit let me know :) will be great to see you. After this Brexit it was the final straw and cannot wait to go out there full time :) I got the primary business and a second one lined up....Solid plan.

I heard that many Brits live in the Frankfurt area. It might be easier to start here, where you re not completely on your own. I m sorry you had to go throught all of this alone. Greetings from the rhine main area 👋

No wonder young Brits wants out - basically Europe has so much more to offer than the UK. Europe suffers less from the class system too though even those remnants are finally dying out (abolition of the monarchy a long time ago). Germany is indeed a wonderful country. If you want to make a new life you can no matter how hard it is. I left the UK 20 years ago and moved to Luxembourg and have a fantastic life. Here's hoping to Scottish independence and then Scotland will rejoin the EU. Well done to you for showing it is possible and for having the courage to do something about it!

As a German, I often can't understand why so many people want to come to Germany of all places. We already have almost 84 million inhabitants. The rents in the big cities are hardly affordable. The employees in the immigration authorities are completely unable to keep up with applications for asylum and immigration. I also find it strange that some people always see Germany as a kind of emergency solution when things are going downhill in their European home country. The wages aren't the best either. I would be interested to know what fascinates people about Germany. I wouldn't advise anyone to come here at the moment. Maybe 10 years ago. But not now.

I think as a German you may be biased. I was lucky enough to grow up and live in the UK, Spain, Japan and Germany. For me if I were to choose a place, which one is the best? Spain by far for its climate and social life. Do I recommend it? Never, unless you are lucky enough to get a good job. Everything you mention in the comment is the same as in Germany but much worse. Regarding the UK, I would say it is halfway between Germany and Spain. Wages adjusted to the cost of living are even in London well below what you can earn in Frankfurt, Berlin or Munich. Only Switzerland is better in Europe. Housing is also very hard to find and the quality is often surprisingly bad. Healthcare I won't even talk about. And another thing that hits the UK is inequality, between jobs and between territories, you'd be surprised at the precariousness that exists in places like Wales or the north of England. I don't know how the global situation will affect Germany, but nowadays it's a great place if you want stability and a comfortable life, despite all its problems like any other country and its massive bureaucracy

You are not comparing Germany to any other countries. If you feel like something is becoming worse in Germany, this does not matter at all, when it's going worse world- oder europe-wide. If you are the fastest, and everybody is slowing down by 10%, you are still the fastest. (or richest, or whatever). A big fact is just, Germany is well known, better known then Denmark or Sweden or so, although they have similiar conditions.

The thing about making friends in Germany: you need to make the effort and put yourself out there, and you'll be surprised how quickly it happens :D Germans are reserved, so they won't come up to you but they will be super welcoming once you come up to them. Just organize an outing with 3 or 4 people, get talking, have some drinks and then do a follow up a week or two later. That's literally all it takes.

Um, no qualification? Gonna be tough. If you're young enough, you could apply for an apprenticeship and get one. Depending on your experience, this could be shortend to 2 years. Nonetheless, that would be two really tough years for you. You wouldn't make enough money to live off. Not sure about if immigration laws cover apprentices, though. On the other hand, if you have a lot of experience, you could just apply for jobs. There is a shortage of workers in many areas.
