I love how you characterize the dark sides, and where they live, and Otto fits surprisingly well with the existing characters, right down to his origin story. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if Thomas made another side similar. And with the theory that all the sides have a dark side counterpart, that I believe wholeheartedly, usually if someone made a new side, dark or light, they’d have to make another to be on the opposite side, but with Otto, the problem was circumnavigated, as he is technically his own counterpart.

I don’t totally buy into the “opposites” theory, mostly because I think the split between “dark” sides and “light” sides is completely arbitrary and doesn’t actually mean anything substantial, hence Otto kind of being both! The opposites theory doesn’t really work if there’s only seven sides, so I tried to design Otto without worrying about that theory! (That’s not to say the sides aren’t foils for each other though - Deceit clearly is meant to oppose Patton and Virgil in different ways, after all!)
