You're my savior, I was about to fail this assignment.

Very well explained. I live in Mississippi where it gets really hot during summer so we get fruit flies or "gnats" and they are a huge nuisance. You can put apple cider vinegar and water in a jar with a few drops of dish soap and they will fly in and drown because of the soap breaking the water's surface tension. Really cool

I spread washing up liquid in my pool when the filter pump isn't working and wasps drown when they come to drink. I haven't found a better solution to my wasp problem. Great video. Thanks

Instead of buying a wetting agent for lawn I will experiment with soap and surfactant mixes. Thanks a lot for this.

I am a firefighter and I was trying to understand the science behind surface tension because we use foams in firefighting. Reading wasn't helping me at all. It clicked with this video thank you.

I have to use an apple cider vinegar trap to get rid of fruit flies. While setting up, I decided to make it an experiment of it. I added soap to one trap but not the other (because I was told to). I now see why one has far more fruit flies in it.

I am not a student watching this. I was just really interested in it. This is so cool. But one question... is there anything wetter than the surface of water? Please reply!
@ofpqo39514 жыл бұрын
idk about wetter but if you're asking about the surface tension,water has higher surface tension than most liquids do. their surface particle don't form bonds with particles above them,jusst beneath them and besides them

Thank You. I watch this because I have lots of mosquitoes in small pools of water. So I will use soap water to ensure that their lavae dies.

What kind of wax paper did you use? I used a baking paper which didn't seem to work as well as yours.
