When she screams it’s always so heartbreaking. It’s Like she’s calling for an immediate resolution to something traumatic. There are always dark undertones to her work. She’s so honest and raw.

Another masterpiece by anja a completely underrated musical genius. Never understood why she never achieved the level of acclaim she deserves but what I love about her is she doesnt seem to want or need it.

I love artists like soap&skin because they are just popular enough to find comments in videos. Plus they stay true to their music

Bei dem Song schüttelt es mich nur so durch vor feeling. Jede Note und jeder Takt ist pures Leben. das Lied ist einfach nur der Oberhammer.

I don’t know how you managed to hit that note, but it’s incredible...Pulls on my soul-strings like no other. Been listening to this on repeat lately. Simply stunning. Thank you so much! ❤️

Soap&Skin stated that this song has a lot to do with collective desire. "Surrounded by a shear": The definition of shear: "a strain in the structure of a substance produced by pressure, when its layers are laterally shifted in relation to each other" This could mean that the singer feels crushed by her own desires and how she handles them. Crushed by the desires she is willing to except and crushed by the ones she hides from. "Eye getting blear" This might mean that she tries to blind herself and hide from her desires. She would rather deal with the, weight of hiding them then actally face them. "While I cling, While I bring me down" I think this refers to how we often work ourselves up, just to later bring ourselves back to a calm state of mind. That's what I got from those first lines at least. It's a lyrically simple yet emotally complex song, in my opinion. :)

I'm so glad that upon this day I thought to myself "I wonder what the latest and greatest is with my dream Anja Plaschg," and after a search found an album release in four days. So excited that she has been doing her thang. I love the single.

I was waiting for more dramatic version like old live ones. It's different, but I love some decisions, like the beginning, more than the previous ones. Also I appreciate this softness, because now song is made in a sense of an album and would make a great trio with italy+this is water. New live version with orchestra is going to be amazing. Waitnig for the album and tour!
