KZbin put u in my way 😂 I was a teen when I first watched shameless, I was together with my brother, we have a dysfunctional family, u can find everthing, we ended damaged too... I can talk only for myself, I faced depression since ever, I had eating disorders, it got worse and worse thanks to mother, I use to hurt myself, I never touched alcohol or drngs, watching our family record I thought if I ever touched any of those substances, it would be the end for me... instead I was facing something I couldn't understand and it was worse year by year... I remember a phrase a lady told to Fiona, it was something about like there is a point from which u can't blame ur family, ur environment, the sh1t u faced, there is a point when u and only u can take a step away, taking all the responsibility and consequences with u, making clear that, that point is ur beginning and anything after that became ur sh1t. So I left, I left to survive, looking for help, I left everything and everyone, I was useless as I couldn't help myself, unluckily I left my brother too and, when I was starting to have something, still figuring out how I was healing, he almost left this world, he did it more than twice tries ... I can affirm that an ep, a TV ep together with music and books, kept me here, so I was able to hold on my brother too... and we are so far from that point, it's just crazy. Recently, my brother is fighting with the addictions he had and still has, he is a lot better but, his "I have a problem" is recent so.... the way was so so so so long and so so so hard.... shameless is so real... that's sad.

See now this only taught Debby that it's okay to lie to people. She did steal a child but considering her age, she would probably be forced into theory at the worse. Or maybe she'd be taken away from the family possibly. But still this only taught her that lying is okay. And the rest of the family helped out yes. But still not a best lesson to teach a child while young. But good reaction. I look forward to seeing more.

I felt every word you said about being dressed like a girl. My mother wanted a boy so badly that she dressed me like a boy most of the time. I remember one day she had to go do something and left me with my aunt - her oldest sister. I remember playing in the park, my mother arrived all I heard was my mother scream “OH MY G-, WHY IS MY CHILD IN A DRESS?!” My aunt just said “She’s a little girl, she can wear a dress!” She had told multiple people outside her friend circle that I was a boy prior to that and some of them found out that day.

My mom and grandma planned the name “Sarah Joe” before I was even born 😂 wrote a nice poem and my grandma hand made a raggedy Ann doll with Sarah Joe stitched on it 😂 they went all in thinking I was going to be a girl. I laughed every time they told the story.

I can’t stand Debbie. I love everyone else and this show but I get so annoyed every Debbie based episode. I can’t explain why but it’s been that way every time.

I can totally understand that 😂 But I feel like Debbie is the only one that still holds on to hope of having what she (and many) thinks is a normal family. She has all the impulsiveness of the rest of the family, which is one of the bigger problems in general imo, but I can’t help but attach myself to that feeling of hope. I think it’s why the rest of the family protects her the way they do. I don’t think they want her to lose that hope. In a way, she carries that hope for the rest of them too. This is all just my best guess really 😂

I was definitely in more of a Fiona place growing up so I wonder if it’s because I didn’t get to have Debbies perspective cause I was in survival mode and raising 3 kids I didn’t have. Luckily it wasn’t as high pressure as their situation. Thank you for opening my eyes to that perspective
