The only RPG that I played was Legend of Zelda on the NES. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out what to do next and ended up grabbing the Nintendo Power Magazine for help.

Great answers on this topic. An interesting aray from a ton of different content creators. My personal favorite has to be final fantasy 7. I dabbled into the rpg world, mainly through watching my best friend play through them as he is really good at them where I'm not the best. It was the first one I playthrough from beginning to end and put in over 96 hours into it and achieved 100% completion of the game. I couldn't agree with Ian more in regards to parasite eve. I did the same thing with that game as well. Awesome job with the vid! 🤟🔥

top 3 JRPG's i would say would have to be 1. Chrono trigger 2. Final Fantasy 7 3. Tales Arise. Final Fantasy was my first ever RPG to play and Tales Arise was my most recent and they both absolutely blew me away! But as the guy in the video said you can just play Chrono trigger So many times and its almost like its a different story or RPG everytime. Great Video guys!

I’m a huge JRPG fan. Wish I went to SoCal RGE but I’m glad you guys had a great time. My Favorite and Worst JRPGs are: Favorites: Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Eternal Sonata, and Tokyo Xanadu eX+. I’m a Huge SMT fan and Nocturne despite being the first Mainline SMT I’ve played, was such a Great and Badass game. Basically you spend hours killing Demons and it’s awesome. Eternal Sonata is one of the most well written games I’ve ever played basically being based on a real story but more fictionalized. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is a new addition/favorite. I love Nihon Falcom Games and this game continues the legacy of a JRPG on PC that popularized Action RPGs to begin with. Disappointing JRPGs: MagnaCarta 2, Enchanted Arms, Persona 5 MagnaCarta 2 was not the way for me to be introduced to JRPGs made in Korea. Enchanted Arms sucks, only reason why it’s disappointing and not terrible is because it’s one of the first JRPGs on Xbox 360. Persona 5 has a lot of problems, I didn’t find the characters likable, the battle system was frustrating, and the story makes it feel more like Dirty Harry and A Clockwork Orange than anything SMT. This was awesome guys! So, I'm with the one dude you guys spoke to who said Legend of Dragoon was their favorite RPG. I absolutely LOVED this game and played it like 3 times! Loved the story and being able to be involved more in the battle vs just having your toon do commands/spells. Second close runner up was Final Fantasy 8..that one I played only twice..lol! The cinematic cut scenes were movie quality..you felt like you were watching a movie at times vs playing a game. The story was good and man..you get so invested into it! Least favorite..I think we can all agree that Quest 64 was a joke! It just didn't work.. my next would be Legend of Legia. Worst cinematic cut scenes ever. Game play was just too predictable.

Favorite has to be Lunar Silver Star Story Complete, least goes to Xenosaga Episode 2, those battle mechanics were a nightmare! Props for them making Episode 3 so good :D

I was so disappointed with Xenosaga 2, I wasn't going to bother picking up Xenosaga 3. Luckily a friend convinced me to get Xenosaga 3 while it was on clearance for $20. I'm glad I was able to complete the series.

This was such a cool video, and a nice insight into the minds of so many wonderful people. It was a very fun video to watch, and has given me a few more RPGs (both good and bad) to hopefully check out soon. I think my favorite one for me would have to be: Final Fantasy 7, Super Mario RPG or Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow. (With honorable mention to Legend of Dragoon). Not sure what my least favorite one would be as I just have fond memories of the games I have played, especially from back in the day. Maybe Quest 64 as it was fun, but didn't hit the same as the others (from what I remember). This is solely based on renting it as I never owned the game until last year. Still need to play it through completely and than I can give a better opinion on it, as it will be fresher. Potentially the only other one that comes to mind is Record of Agarest War Zero on the PS3, just due to not so much the strategy combat, but how heavily it was for the combos and such. Still a good game that I will have to go back and beat at some point, just it took me out of it with that combat. Ever go old school rpg? I grew up on bards tale, legacy of the ancients, questron and others for the c64. Thats when you actually had to use graph paper to map the dungeons. The newer stuff like ff7 remake hold your hand and walk you through the game. That game even has arrows on the ground telling you where to go. That's ridiculous.

I used to think Chrono Trigger was my favorite, but then I thought about what game I’ve played through the most times and realized that Final Fantasy IX is more likely my favorite. It’s a world that I would love in I think. 😁 As far as worst I would probably say Unlimited Saga. It was pretty weird.

My personal favorite jrpg would have to be xenoblade chronicles for the wii I absolutely loved the story and characters as well as the music man it was so good. Now worst rpg for me is final fantasy 10-2 only bc I couldn't get into the rhythm dance combat system.

Favorite: Final Fantasy III (VI) . Close second is Final Fantasy II (IV) I walked down the aisle to the FF4 version of the prologue and my wedding part walked down to the Red Wings theme. Worst: Arc of Alchemist (but I still speedrun it) Also, Perris, CA ;-)

This may not count but all of the old SSI dungeons and dragons series games which came out on pc. These hooked me into rpg jrpg's etc. Also another one I finished was Jeanne d'Arc on psp. as far as the worse?? Maybe dragon quest monsters joker great video by the way.

my favorite RPG because I feel it was the first RPG I truly understood the combat system and the storyline would be Final Fantasy X, worst rpg and it's more so underwhelming for me would be Blue Dragon :/ another one that I'd say I didn't really like all that much just because the combat system was very hard to figure out was Vagrant Story, which I did manage to somehow push through and beat it...even if the final boss did take me like an hour to beat 😅

@@JRPGLife yeah, I just figured that with the Akira Toriyama art style figured it would be something closer to Dragon Quest :( sadly the most memorable thing of that game is the boss theme song by the singer from Deep Purple....that played every single boss fight 😂

I'm going to be different than everyone else from the con and in the comments. Yes, I love Earthbound and Chrono Trigger and can't stand Quest 64 or Hydlide. But, I'll go with Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals as my fave and Brandish on the SNES as my worst.

I just absolutely love Dot Hack Gu on ps2 (mainly vol 3 Redemption) and Xenoblade 2, Star ocean 3 on ps2 , and Persona 5. Worst rpg I've ever played is Orphen scion of sorcery. It sucks so much garbage.
