Roger is played by veteran voice actor Koichi Yamadera. He has played numerous other characters, including Donald, Genie, the Beast, and Stitch, and has been called a wizard of the voice

You can look at it being “woke” of Disney. But what if imagineers think the ride was showing a women being damsel but rather her be a detective. The movie always Jessica more time to show off her character and so maybe they just wanted to change the story a little to fit a more modern day look. You might not like how they did but could also just be happy that Jessica will have hopefully more merch in the park now. Just my two cents
