Messi is not a striker, though... That is one of the main reason why he is considered so great. Putting those numbers while, being a winger, a central midfielder aka number 10 and being a false nine or even zentral creative midfielder dropping real back to bring foward the ball in contrast to a striker that waits to get the ball in the right position, or a striker that links the play or a striker that runs behind,etc. Ronaldo from Portugal as an example was also a winger, but became a striker with link up play, and developed more into a target man as he grew older. In contrast Messi was always more of a dribbler opened up the defences and made the passes and scored, while being more and more the creative brain to direct the play or find the space or just find the key passes, while still having numbers that would be normal for the last guy that scores at the end of the play.

I think it's rather unfair to immediately call it wrong for Isagi to think about scoring the goal himself during the first match just because it didn't work out for Kane. That's like one example out of a million attempts in the entire history of football, and they don't always fail.
@anti167
@anti167 Жыл бұрын
It is wrong tho, in that specifically situation you would be crucified if you didn't pass the ball to a teammate who clearly would have scored the goal, it didn't happened to Kane (that much) because kabe is a humble guy but this animes premise is to be an asshole, an asshole who doesn't score its a fraud, not the way you want your team to work
@soulxcvzc1561
@soulxcvzc1561 Жыл бұрын
@@anti167 you're missing the point here. I said it's "unfair" to criticize Isagi for considering getting the goal for himself when the outcome was that him passing ended up with them losing the game. So what if he gets crucified for not passing and scoring? I'd rather get yelled by every single player in the team than lose the most important match of my life. Also, this anime's premise is to have an ego and aspect selfishness, not being an asshole. There's a big difference to that. Even Fat Asian said, even Messi has a giant ego, he just hides it very well. You can be self-centered and not be a douche to your teammates at the same time.
@anti167
@anti167 Жыл бұрын
@Soul xcvzc yeah that's why it's wrong, the whole aspect of being an egoist and having a big ego is wrong firstly because those players that are mention there doesn't have a big ego, pele never said such thing, Messi only gets angry only if you doubt his capacities because well he is on the goat debate so you cant doubt his capacities everything he does he is very humble and gives credit to his teammates and every trophy he has won he always says is thanks to God and Jesus, cristiano ronaldo on the other hand doesn't have an ego because his capacities are as good as his "ego" so it's not having an ego but saying hey I am in the goat debate, and he is, so it's not bragging or being an asshole, in this anime they are just a bunch of random Japanese they have no right to believe themselves in the same position as messi pele or ronaldo, there are 2 egos the positive one and the negative one, the series focuses on saying the negative one is good to play football and that's wrong because it's a lie

@@soulxcvzc1561 look in football and in life, there's a good decision and a bad decision. Just because you make the best decision (effort, attempt) doesn't necessarily guarantee you a successful outcome. But having undesirable outcome is not the reflection of the decision/effort. The player that has the space or clear sight to goal should finish the ball regardless of position. In this context, Isagi made the right decision to pass the ball to the player that has better space. It's the best decision at the time. Just because the ball doesn't goes in, isn't necessary mean Isagi made a bad decision. I would argue, if Isagi, say shoot with power or try to place the ball, he wouldn't score because he doesn't have the space or the clear sight.

Also as someone who has played football, I can confirm, if you are in that position and you have the chance to pass, but you know they're shit or that they crumble under pressure, you would take it on yourself. This basically set off the anime perfectly, as it's about how you choose your chances in football and how Isagi was wrong and he mistook that as the easiest way to score.

I feel this ego is misunderstood, i feel like the ego that a striker needs is exactly what Isagi does. You should always look to improve and never lose shight of your goal, do everything you can and everything you have to win and improve. This ego is not about believing you're the best, but actually this ego is something that has to be damaged in order for you to take action and improve so you can go even further. I also feel like people superficially look at the concept of ego in the anime. Its not about being an asshole. It's basically saying do everything you can in order to shine and perform at your best. As Noel Noa said "I feel better losing 3-4 while scoring a hattrick than winning 1-0 with an assist" because at the end of the day you own performance gets you in the eyes of scouts and this way you can reach the top. I've started applying this to my own games and it has been working greatly. Of course i will pass the ball whenever i must pass. But if i do get a chance to shoot at the target i wont wait for someone else to come do i can pass. I will not hesitate to shoot . This is an interesting philosophy I've never saw before but i think that if you filter some of the information you can really have succes.

I agree, but if you watch it until the end, you realise that it's not about you being a ball hog and doing it all yourself, but maximising all that you can do and being the difference maker in big matches. This doesn't necessarily mean scoring all the goals and dribbling past everyone, but maximising your impact and choosing the pass when it's needed and how to beat players in the mental battles on the field (you know how Robben would always cut in and score from his left, but he knew how to trick players into letting him have the space do this) You see this in the development of Barou essentially.

Here in Brazil we have the concept of football school. A school is basically a way of playing football of a country or a club, countrys that have a school usualy have more notoriety in word cups, and i think Japan have just basically just found theirs way of playing football, and i think something like bluelock would be contraceptive to their way of playing.
@EloimMBueto
@EloimMBueto Жыл бұрын
That probably happens cause it's easier for a gem to get noticed at football schools, the coach will notice the potential of a player and is a lot more willing to give the player the means to become a professional player. Also one thing that the guy from the video said that I think it's reason for Brazil to keep constantly loosing in world cups is that international football is more defensive than ever and the defense is the concept of football that Brazil lacks the most, we tend to focus more on quick and explosive attack with heavy pressure to regain possession as quick as possible

the reason i avoid blue lock like the plague no matter how much i hear people raving about it is because its simply not football. football is about 11 players going at it with another team of 11 players all specialised to play their role to the best of their ability, it takes teamwork and an almighty brain to play top tier football, limiting football to "just the striker" is such an idiotic way to think about football. If the bluelock experiment was to happen in real life, 1 they would be done for physical and emotional abuse of the players and 2 there wouldnt be a single good player to leave the academy, since for ages the only people they have played against is other strikers playing out of position. Also this anime struggles because it was released after Aoashi, which is incredibly faithful to football as a whole, sure the protag has a huge ego but he humbles himself and learns football itself. he started out being a goal hungry striker but he actually develops as a character, not only that but the tactics used in aoashi is something you would expect in real life football, its faster paced sure but its anime it has to be. having a wing back go forward is literally the most modern of modern football tactics now and having an extremely good long passing full back with great vision going forward to help the attack is literally just trent alexander-arnold. The comparison is night and day really. blue lock is an insult to the beautiful game that is just a repulsive oversimplification of football made for morons where as Aoashi is a love letter to football with strategy and thought going into it. Nothing can fix the bitter taste in my mouth that Blue lock ended up bigger than Aoashi. one of the biggest injustices ever.

The way I feel about Blue Lock, maybe in a wrong way, is that the author either hates the sport or doesn't really understand how it's perceived in Europe or South America. The most important thing about football is not the sport in itself, is the identity it creates, and modern football is eradicating it, and an artistic work that celebrates it kinda feels like a nihilistic perversion. I know that for fans who get into football lately maybe don't understand this, winning could be something that matters if you support teams like Man City or Barcelona, but for anybody else born in small cities supporting your local team is more than enough. I really want to think of a work in an extreme contraposition to this one, legendary teams that could hypothetically have no chance at getting silverware beating opponents as absolute underdogs, see Wimbledon's Crazy Gang, 2016 Leicester, or legendary players that decided to play for one team for their entire career, like Matt Le Tissier, Francesco Totti and such. This is what makes football REALLY great. Japanese people have weird takes on football to be honest, and I don't even think it reflects their own national football system, that have extraordinary stories of redemption and show off of heart and spirit, like Vegalta Sendai winning the J-League the year after the tsunami happened, I mean the take the author of Blue Lock has is pretty clearly in opposition of all this, unless he ends the story with an ending criticising the said Blue Lock system. You can't have beautiful football without supporters, without charismatic managers, without laughter nor tears.

this series is actually very close how most sunday league clubs are ngl. i played in one for a long time and i had a year around like 14years old i had an entire new team with i think 90% thinking they were strikers and ofcourse ego's were broken when they were put if defense and other positions XD. same goes here, this is a show you can think as all children coming together thinking they are the new messi/ronaldo but are just not striker material. look at raishi (sharkteeth) from the show, easily a character i can compare with a good friend of mine who thought he was gonna be the topdog striker scoring every game. got multiple chances, blew it and was put in defense, easily one of the best defenders i played with and he liked the position he played alot and even scored more from there than he did as a striker.

I'd disagree, having read the manga, which expands upon things, I'd say the authors definitely understand football... intellectually, at least. They understand concepts and actions quite well. The problem is that they obviously have no actually football experience, and therefore have no idea how to translate those concepts and actions into real life scenarios, which makes it entertaining, if not overly dramatic, but somewhat inaccurate.

"At that point u are just suck at football" or maybe, u too focusing to be the best at ur current position that u also focusing to only Learn the technique that would help u be better player in ur position. U think other positions don't have their own Required technique that differs them from other positions? At this point i just Know NOTHING about football. Bet u don't even know what is an "L" shape in football defense scheme 🥱 3. Why can't they just listen to their coach? U see how dumb u are right now? 4."in blue lock they were taught how to be all rounder footballers" did u even watch blue lock? They were taught on how to be the best STRIKER. 5."all aspects were trained from stamina to physical strength to shot accuracy" yeah, except on how to be a good defender. How to link up with ur teammates on Zone defense (bet u don't even know what zone defense is), when and where the exact moment to do the tackling, how to Block ur opponent's shot course. They are JAPANESE HIGHSCHOOLER. The only one they compete against, is another japanese Highschoolers. The top 5 league player is EUROPEAN PRO PLAYER, they compete against Another European Pro player. If u think Japanese Highschooler can just stole position from European Pro player, again, u prove to me that u don't know how hard REAL FOOTBALL is. Not to mention they stole the position of a non striker 🤣 u really Think Japanese Highschool Striker would be better DF than european pro DF, a real DF who always play as a DF since they were kid? Just bc this JAPANESE HIGHSCHOOL STIKER has the talent that fit those positions? U think THE PRO, don't have the talent that also fit those positions? Well tbf, harry kane's and isagi's positioning are different. Isagi was more centered and had a more direct angle to the goal than harry who was in more of an acute angle to the left thus having less width to work with when shooting compared to isagi. You can't really compare them because Isagi had more chances of scoring than harry in terms of positions, he couldve both passed and shoot whereas harry had a slim chance of scoring himself taking into account his position and angle relative to the goal and passing would've been a better option by far since the team mate had better positioning

A striker with ego is needed otherwise it will be an endless tiki taka. Ofc it shouldnt be overbearing ego (barou), but the lust to score should be there. Which imo the real japanese team actually lacks. And the tag challenge is actually pretty realistic and well thought out.

@@kamadothorfinn8166 the idea of power systems in blue lock and in real life are too vastly different to even compare the 2, blue lock is a bunch of fairy magic bullshit where people learn positions in the time it takes to fart, where as real life leagues are played with players with years of experience in their positions (at the top end) and mostly casually at the lower end (sunday league) given blue lock is meant to be training these guys to be the best in the world, then the power system is whole heartedly broken. IRL the top 20-30 would get scouted for a team, and after some time in the youth team maybe 5 or 6 make it to professional football at any level, 1 of them if they are lucky would play at the highest level. out of all 300 of them in blue lock 1 would potentially go professional at the highest level.
