Rugby has always been called Rugby. Because it was invented at a school in.... would you believe... RUGBY, England. It was invented by someone called William Webb Ellis who was playing football and decided it was easier to score a goal by picking up the ball and running with it. We British are quite good at inventing games.... Oh, there are two seperate codes of Rugby.... Rugby Union and Rugby League.

Everything you said is correct. But it is the shortened name of "Rugby Football." Don't make me repeat everything I said in the video. If you don't believe me. Do your own research.

Here. I did the legwork for you. "first rules of the game that became *rugby union football* were established there in 1845." www.britannica.com/sports/rugby

I just saw your reply on the other comment backing up the use of soccer. So if you weren't being argumentative in this reply, I apologize for the argumentative tone of my replies 😂

Football was invented in England. We have always called it either Football or Soccer. It makes no difference.
