I think they're taking the shots from too far out. If you go to the Bundesliga youtube channel and watch their crossbar challenge videos, they take them from the edge of the penalty box and they still have a hard time hitting it. It's gonna be a 1 in 1000 shot if you actually hit the bar from the mid way line.
