Hey Josh, the superfly mid cut design actually has a small benefit if you play a lot on AG surfaces as the collar keeps the rubber pellets out of the shoe a little bit more effectively. Other than that, no benefit.

the turf is the best version of football boots for me, great for grass great for ag pitches analso can be used on hard ground so just get those although you arent getting the best tech like airzoom

It’s hard to market something that you can’t see on the outside of the of the boots. In general I think it would be pretty difficult to get people excited about an insole in general, so they typically don’t prioritize it as a “feature”.

If we are talking about functionality and foot support, the most important part of a boot is the insoles. Without a good insole a boot is incomplete. So we pay $250 for an incomplete shoes and then pay about $70 for a good pair of insoles from a third party. Its ridiculous.

Having tried on all 3 levels, the elites feel soooo much better. The upper is more pliable and stretches better. I was able to go a full size down from trying on the vapor 15 pro to the superfly 9 elite.

So I would like some feed back on the “collar” feature on boots (superflys), most specifically when playing on artificial grass. All reviews, including this one, suggests that it’s for aesthetics because it does not provide ankle support. Is the function of it simply to keep debris out of your boot and not for aesthetics or ankle support?? That’s why I ordered my son the superflys because it’s annoying getting those rubber pieces in your boot.

Keeping rubber pellets out is about the only practical function, albeit unintentional, of mid-cut collars. Collars in football boots are about aesthetics and "feel", both of which boil down to personal preference rather than true performance variation between mid and low cut.
