@@dodahspeak because I fundamentally disagree. I think he is an opportunistic liar who will play on any fear to get attention. He promised Brexit would be a glorious summer of untold wealth an opportunity. In reality it has made the country poorer and worse off. His response isn't to reflect and look at why, he just blames the Tories for not delivering. Now he wants to get rid of the Human Rights Act, which again, would mostly have be a massive detriment to the ordinary folk of this country.

@@dodahspeak because I disagree on a very fundamental level. He is a lying opportunist who will play on any fear to gain attention. Seriously, leave the ECHR? Why? To deal with the 29,000 people who came by boats last year? When 1.3 million people were granted visas legally. It aint the problem he makes it out to be. All leaving the ECHR will do is open us as UK citizens up to issues as our right to free speech, right to a fair trial, free and fair elections, protection of property, freedom from discrimination etc, all get questioned. There would not be the legal protection if we got rid of the ECHR.
@JP-je6jg
@JP-je6jg Ай бұрын
@@dodahspeak because he is awful. Repealing the ECHR would not help ordinary people, it would repeal our guarantees to a fair trial, to freedom of speech, to protection of property, to freedom from discrimination, to fair and free elections. All the hallmarks of a free democracy would be at risk. Let me just give you an idea of what Farage's ilk think, Jacob Rees Mogg has said he doesn't think paid holiday leave should be an automatic right. It's protected under workers rights enforced by the ECHR. I don't doubt that would go, in the name of productivity and improving the economy. You might think it won't bother you, until suddenly it does and then, you will have no protection.

What a truly excellent proposal. We should allow the people to decide on this matter through a democratic vote. This referendum should address the following questions: 1. Should Britain remain part of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR)? 2. Should the 1951 Refugee Convention and its 1967 Protocol, established by the United Nations, be revised? 3. Should it be a legal obligation for any British government to pursue this revision until it is adopted globally? It’s crucial to recognise that all Western nations face similar challenges, and in some cases, these issues may be even more severe than those experienced by Britain. The British media must actively promote this idea, and a parliamentary petition should be established to advance it. Unfortunately, this cannot be done at the moment due to the department being closed while a new committee is being set up.

@EdwardThatch-ee7yx It would not work there are thick people in our country and on here that think it means they will lose their human rights. Too thick to realise that the UK had human rights long before the ECHR.

The difference between the Blunkett years and now is that asylum seekers have been schooled on how to use the ECHR in their favour i.e. converting to Christianity and or gender based conversion. That's the ONLY reason a majority of applicants are successful in their asylum claim. Farage is right, the ECHR and specifically Blair's 1998 Human Rights Act lies at the root of the problem.

If people don't start waking up it's over. Everybody just seems to go to work and keep paying taxes. Why don't people just have a day off once a month out of protest. That would do it easily. They'd listen then because all they care about is money. Break free fools ✌️

A country built on a small island for a small population that's steadily grown year after year, but the small island isn't getting any bigger. You can only preserve so much natural landscape if you keep bringing stuff into the garden, you can't have both. Eventually you will have to sacrifice your garden for storage, cram it wherever it fits or get rid. You do not have the space for all of this

Just think. The voters in Angela Rayner's constituency voted for her, even though they knew she supported mass Muslim immigration, and they knew she would give these Muslim immigrants priority on the housing list and they knew she bowed down to a room of Muslim males promising them support for a Palestinian state if they voted for her. Four Muslim supporters of Hamas have been elected to Westminster, fully supported by the Muslim vote. Islam is winning.
