It's amazing how well his voice has held up over the years. Great band.

You know, Social D is one of my favs and I have to say I agree with the notion that KZbin doesn't give a true feel of a live show. You know, that's why sound engineers make so much money because it's the art of replicating the human ear. That in itself gets misrepresented all the time, but I still did Ness even on subpar vids... He's a beaut. -Rock

Social D are living legends mainly because they helped cultivate melodic punk rock.Bands like Greenday,The Distillers and Rancid are all influenced by their sound.

I definitly agree that the "punk" out now has no resemblance to what punk is about...and even the older bands have been a joke for the last decade or so (listen to any Bad Religion from No Substance and on, the last Exploited album or The Misfits after Danzig left...makes me want to cry

)...but there is a good amount of real punk out there...but mainly just local bands since its so hard to get signed with any company that gives exposure now...theres a few great bands around my city like Risky Business among others...its just hard for them to get public. You need to look at the last 15 years to even find a few decent "new" punk bands....but check out Agnostic Front (Epitaph) and Black Halos (have since broke up)....theyre the best of the worst of recent punk

I think Social D. gets rather unfairly labeled with the whole "punk" tag. I don't consider them punk, as you can actually hear the words -generally- that Mike Ness is singing, and the songs actually have melody, solos, etc. As well, Social D. were more like "rockabilly" when they 1st came out.
