Am 58 retiring next year but the thought of retirement gives me weakness. My apologies to everyone who have retired and filing social security during this time after putting in all those years of work just to lose everything to a problem you never imagined to happen. It’s so difficult for people who are retired and have no savings or loved ones to fall back on.

True, It has never been easier to understand how to build your money after retirement than it is right now with the inflation, when you may study and experience a completely variegated market passively by employing a successful portfolio-advisor. The impacts of the U.S. dollar's gain or fall on investments, in my opinion, are complex.

Personally, I would say have a mentor. Not sure where you will get an experience one, but if your knowledge of the market is limited, it seems like a good bet.

The issue is this! Most often, those with little to no experience in the stock market attempt to buy on their own. It previously occurred to me, but I learned from it and contacted a finance expert and everything changed. I earned $370k so far in the last quarter of the year.

This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.

Investing in Roth IRA can be a good choice since they are funded with post-tax dollars, your contributions can grow tax-free over time. When you withdraw money from your Roth IRA in retirement, you won’t have to pay tax on it, which will help you keep more of your hard-earned money. I retired with 5 million dollars

I wish i learnt most of these principles about seven years ago. A lot of people have been trapped strongly in the matrix-- Go to school, get a job, and then slave your whole life. Many miss out on life-changing information that could have great effect on their finances. I played with the stock market sometime in 2020, and I was surprised at how well it turned out. I want to put in $90k more into the market. I heard people are making really great returns despite the downturn. Any recommendations? ........
@bahijarhafiri

It's unfortunate most people don't have such information. I don't really blame people who panic. Lack of information can be a big hurdle. I've been making more than $31k passively by just investing through an advisor, and I don't have to do much work. Doesn't matter if the economy is misbehaving; great wealth managers will always make returns.

Congress should pass a national mandatory Rent Control and price control for all depending on Social Security monthly benefits that often can barely pay the rent for even a one bedroom Apt. anymore,plus high Utility rates,food and medical costs. Those one depending on SS,SSDI,SSI should automatically be qualified for section 8 matter where they live,and all Landlords should be mandated by federal law to except section 8 recipients from Seniors and the disabled or face huge fines in the millions for each case they reject for seniors.

That's why they wait until the last quarter to calculate the COLA. Usually in the last quarter is when inflation goes down. Increase should be double and zero increase in Medicare/Medicaid premiums, copays, deductibles. If you get a 5% increase, expect your medical to increase 10%. COLA never reflects the TRUE costs of living. Like food, gasoline, utilities, similar. Regardless of the source of your income. Here is a question: Grandpa worked for a State and also worked a side job. Paid into both systems. SS mandates a full offset because of retirement from elsewhere. Is that COLA going to be offset too?

Social security retirement pay needs to be totally revamped, first as a society we must decide on its purpose-is it meant to provide a 'decent standard of life for all seniors elligible. Because currently its a partial supplememt based on your income level and payments made during your working years. Consrquently higher income level retirees get larger payment regardles of other income, assets or need. Like all of our social programs corporations and or the wealthy get larger benefits engineered into the program before the poor and needy get their smaller payouts in a system not made to address senior poverty or adjust for regional cost of living differences. To pass these programs it must not be considered socialism by the elite right wing. Socialism is any thing needs based which is drsigned to prevent the abject poverty a retirement pay out of 1200 month or less gauruntees. This is the level over half of seniors receive.

I’m 50 and want to stop working after this year. My current statement says if I continue to work until I’m 62 and make what I did last year(105,000) I’ll receive 2000/ month. But what if I stop working now and don’t contribute. My lowest 12 years average about 50,000. And those would be erased if I make more than that each of the next 12 years. But of course I want to stop working now. Do you think with the yearly increases in social security that I may still be up near 2000 if I stop contributing after this year? Or will it be considerably less?
@rossqm369

@@rossqm369after I posted this question, I went on the my social security website and found my answer. They actually have the calculations you can punch in yourself earning $0 from 50-62 and collecting at 62. My situation calculates to $1650 per month if I do this. Also with 2 % inflation i for increases in the next 12 years I will get at least 2000 per month. And as far as being a moron, I’ve got no debt, 2 million in liquid assets, my wife is 50 collecting a pension and I’ll start collecting a 6000/ month pension at 60. I also work in a very demanding grueling job for the last 32 years and would like to enjoy the rest of my life without the physical grind.
@justviewing1793
@justviewing1793 2 жыл бұрын
@@jerrylance4932 you did the homework. It check that the calculation is based on 35 years of contribution to SS so maybe you need to work 1 more year. I had my retirement in life planned back in 2009, I had over $200 in 401k, had a 2000 pension at 62 but life turned when my husband and I lost our jobs 3 years continued paying mortgage and COBRA was too high but didn’t want to risk it if American situationa arises.. I topped 3 time the fica tax year limit in my career . I’m now 62 but I am aiming: $2000 per month. I continue working to survive but doesn’t make any difference according to ssa calculator since my current salary income is only $45k yearly! Wish you the best in your retirement plans hope you make it!!!
