Hey loves ❤️ hope you all are doing well!!! Going into a girl group reminded me a lot of my grade school experience-it always surprises me when my social work pals admit to being the “bully” in grade school 🤣 they have come a long way... never say people can’t change! How was your 5th grade school year???

I too was bullied when I was younger, most of it happened during middle school. I was often surprised when I found out other social work students used to be bullies, but I also saw them still exemplify some of those characteristics even in college so I wasn't all that surprised. It often upset me because I was the only one in my classes that admitted and reflected on being bullied. It's extremely comforting to see another social worker who was formerly bullied. This is a bit of a personal question and it's completely up to you on whether or not you want to answer it but I'm curious: did you become a school social worker because of your bullying experiences in elementary school?

Congrats to you for reflecting on your bullying experience...you are right, workplace bullying still exists- but now we will be stronger to handle and advocate for ourselves and others! Bullying is a small reason I opted to become a school social worker, I chose social work to offer more opportunity and mental health assistance to at risk populations 💎

I really loved this video, it gave me a lot of ideas and it motivated me in some way to keep on going with my interest in being a school social worker as well. I am often questioning all the time between school counselor and school social work since they are both so similar, but social work interests me more because of how much more is done, even tho both have their impact in similar and different ways. Sometimes I question if I can do this major because of moments of self doubt at times or the role I will take in leading and guiding others, but messages and videos like this really do help in figuring my thoughts on what I want to be and do. I also was bullied through out elementary school and had a lot of moments of rejection in that time period , so maybe that is why it is sometimes difficult for me to socialize with young kids at times despite how much I love that population. Its ironic how that works.. But I really want to be able to help kids and especially the adolescent population, so I'm working on my confidence on those things. :)

I am so happy it helped... Once you are in the position of helping children you will find that need someone like you that has had the experiences you have been through- school social work and counseling are very similar yet apart- just like flowers from the same garden!! 🌸🌺

How would you prepare and change things up. Running a small group of like 4 or 5 kids at any topic could be stress management, could be anger management, how you would modify what you do in the group in order to address the different learning styles of the student.

Hi. My name is Rosy Mang. I'm 23 and currently in my 3rd year as a Student Social Worker in South Africa. And part of one of my assignments is to do group session. And I chose 6 girls (teenagers) in my church to do it with. So this is my first group session that I will be doing with them and their issue is expectations on young ladies according to African culture. I have to draw up a session plan and everything. Please if you may help and assist me on how to go about it. I can work with individuals but since now they want to see how we work with group I am lost. So please if you have any idea or tips please help a soon to be Social Worker out. Thank you so much.🙏🙏🙏🥺💕💕💕
