Everyone cheering Labour for going after the pensioners, just remember one day you (thats if they don't remove your state pension altogether) will become a pensioner. When these things are gone they are gone forever.Working people fought for these rights.

Except all benefits are and should be means-tested, just like universal credit is. Sorry, but means-testing WFA for the wealthiest generation in which 1/4 are millionaires is a good thing actually. You can debate on the threshold if you want but by limiting it to pension credit, the poorest are protected. The 1.4 million pensioners currently receiving pension credit will be protected.

If you believe a quarter of pensioners are millionaires you are deluded.The majority of pensioners worked hard all their lives through mortgage rates of 15% while paying their taxes and national insurance to pay for the pensions of the then older generations.Any benefits they now get have been hard earned. I just hope that when you reach pension age there will be enough workers to pay for your pension though with the increasing number of free .loaders these days I rather doubt it.

Thousands of Pensioners use local bus to buy food and services, a lot won’t be able to walk to shops and carry heavy bags back . Taxi too expensive. They just won’t go out , especially in bad weather. First the government will freeze them now trying to starve them . Why target our vulnerable citizens. People earning under 40k don’t really pay tax. I believe the figure was less than 37k and you are a on average a net receiver of government money. Less than half the population put in more than they take out.
