Very important message and perfect timing! I just saw Of Human Bondage yesterday (the 1934 version with Bette Davis) and that's a tragic story because all the characters are doomed. Because they don't change, they don't evolve because they can't let go of the false reality they've created for themselves, where they are the "victims" of life and circumstances and each other. Additionally, I had no clue that gaslighting and narcissistic relationships were depicted so clearly and accurately 90 years ago! 🤯

Change is difficult. Humility is key. We lost so much when US abandoned Judeo-Christian values.

The decline of society in the west correlates with the decline of Christianity. America was once a very Christian country (it is still in some places, but not nearly as many), and with Christianity came Judeo-Christian values. Like Corey said - we need stories to teach us values, and the Bible for many years was that story. When people stopped exposing themselves to that story, they slowly lost the morals preached in it, and now look where that's brought us. I'm not a very religious person by any means, but I truly think that going back to the roots - to Judeo-Christian values - is the answer. Even if you don't believe in God or Jesus or whatever, the teachings are still valuable from a societal perspective because they teach you how a society should work if it is to benefit everyone. We have lost what it means to care for one another and kids who grow up on social media these days and have never actually read the Bible ever received their role models in the form of less than desirable online influences with fame on their mind above all else. They exchanged caring for others with self-observation and clout chasing and the culture built by millenias of Judeo-Christian teachings with wokeism, which is a terrible monster all to itself... They made it their religion now and it's objectively a bad religion. TL;DR - we need to come back to Judeo-Christian values. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk.

So true. I started participating in counseling struggling couples. So much pain, regret, feeling invisible, neglect. Life is a constant struggle and if a community doesn't have your back you aren't going to do very well.
