Overview of the main argument and central concepts of the book, including lepers and Lazarhouses, Medieval Folly, the Ship of Fools, The Great Confinement, the emergence of therapeutics for madness, including enlightened psychiatry, but one that maintains the mentally ill in modern asylums.
