If I get any marks on the 10 mark on my end of year 12 exam this morning it’s down to you. Covid has sort of disrupted us we’ve never done a 10 mark question before

Hi this video was well explained thanks but for the question about reasons why sects tend to recruit members was it necessary for the answer to include an evaluation

A criticism in itself would not be rewarded. However, some is analytical. As what this student had done, is continued to explore sects following a logical chain of reasoning. This means it was analytical as well as evaluative. It is important to note: BOLT on evaluation will be ignored and not rewarded. BUT if it follows logically as part of the analysis... then it will be

@@TheTEACHERSOCIOLOGY Thanks for this video ms, please what does BOLT mean
@TheTEACHERSOCIOLOGY
@TheTEACHERSOCIOLOGY 4 жыл бұрын
@@ade6609 Bolt on evaluation is a generic criticism. E.g. feminist would accuse it of ignoring patriarchy. Without actually specifically criticising the point that has been made.

Would you be able to do a video on essay plans please? I don't do them at the minute but I panic about wasting too much time on them when I know it'll come to me as I'm writing (but my teacher really recommends that I do them so please help haha!!)

Hi Lamia. Basically this question is asking theoretical (positivists OR interpretivists) and the choice of method that they would use to meet their main goal of researching society. SO, for examples positivist use scientific method, whereas interpretivists use methods to gain validity such as observations. Explain WHY they choose that method, what do they want to gain from it? You would need to give an example of research in society to back up. E.g. Durkheim used suicide statistics, to show the research to 'investigate society'. Think about the studies that you have explored throughout your course. Here is some to give you some ideas: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmTGoaOjatRmr8k And remember there is A03 analysis marks available. Hope this helps. :-)

Thankyou for this video! Very helpful. Do you know why the student scored a 9/10 rather than a 10/10?

Massive thank you for the comment. As the examiner comments suggests, K+U was better on paragraph 1. This might be the reason why.
