I'm watching this while sitting under my ceiling fan that has four light bulb sockets. Am I crazy to imagine having the fan going with one of these socket fans screwed into all four of the light bulb sockets to create some super vortex tornado force that can cause the Earth's rotation to go in reverse or create enough force to lift my entire house off its foundation and send me flying through the air...
@tonysreviews5 ай бұрын
I understand what you are implying. Just put your address in the comments and maybe the general populace will start sending you cash to keep you from throwing us all off into deep space. On second thought? Maybe we are already in deep space and your plan will send us all home. Carry on with the fan placement, I'm willing to accept either scenario.

Nice review. Is the light attached to the fan user replaceable?
@tonysreviews17 күн бұрын
No, all the new LED fixtures are pretty much strip lights inside and not accessible. I work in the industry and people ask this question quite a bit. I think the reason they are not replaceable is that they figure these LED strips will last 15 to 30 years.

I guess I'm the first and only one to notice the fan spins clockwise, righty-tighty. That means the startup torque will make the base spin counterclockwise, lefty-loosy, and will unscrew after a few dozen starts.

@tonysreviews2 ай бұрын
Common in older houses.
@BorqBorq2 ай бұрын
I'd guess 50% of garages out there still have them, unless someone switches them out for outlets to hang LED shop lights. And almost every house recently built has recessed lighting - these will pop right into those 😁 I get what you're saying though... THAT (surface-mount) style socket inside your home is hardly as common anymore.

Don't know if you know but most regular ceiling mounted fans have a reverse fan switch. One direction draws air up for summer to circulate the hot air, and the other pushes it down to bring down the hot air. for the winter.

I've been an electrician for 30 years and I would caution anyone from using this. Ceiling fixtures are generally not designed for the extra weight and the torque.
@jonbee57806 ай бұрын
This doesn’t weigh that much at all, you make absolutely no sense and your years of experience seems to be over exaggerated…..
@timmack24156 ай бұрын
@@jonbee5780 My comment doesn't make sense? I can only explain it to you, I can't understand it for you. I have been an electrician for 32 years. The reason why we have codes (like the NEC) and listing agencies (like UL) are for safety. Ceiling fans require a rated box for that application because of weight, torque load and especially vibration. A standard fixture was not designed or approved for this purpose. Light bulbs don't produce torque, and they don't produce vibrations. If this is truly difficult for you to understand, I would suggest that spent some time doing research instead of commenting on KZbin. Just an idea
