6'4'', fast, strong, supreme technique, one of the 15 greatest midfielders ever, named after a famous philosopher, a graduaded doctor and a dude who fought for democracy on and off the field at times of dictatorship... total baddass. Renato Gaucho didn't succeed at forst in Italy while Amoroso and Amarildo did... anyone that has followed those 3 in the 15 years of their career know Renato is by far the best of the bunch, but I guess coz he didn't adapt that well in Rome and at those times players still didn't feel the need to insist if things didn't go well their first season in europe they didn't need to stay there to I don't know prove their worth or something, they simply came back to the brazilian domestic level , that were in terms of talent overall as good and better than any other place

Ammanuel Hahahah that 'undeserving Italian team' was probably the best football team ever. After a bad start they absolutely dominated.

Best team ever? Sorry, mate, but Brasil 1970 is widely regarded as the best ever; never heard Italy 1982 mentioned in that conversation.
@MrJoshua18756 жыл бұрын
that italian team was not in the top 20 greatest teams ever, but they playyed cattanachio to perfection and outwitted the brasilians tactically, watched that match, and italy deserved it for being clinical.. rossi, although clearly the brasil team were allround better, not on that day!
@Motorfirez6 жыл бұрын
The match against Italy was actually a 4-2 as Antognoni scored an absolutely valid goal that was invalidated because of an unexistant off side . And yes Brasil of 82 was an Amazing team but Italy's victory was legit, no robbery at all.

I'm Italian and this player was amazing. I saw the replicas of Italy Vs Brazil 1982 and that match was spectacular. I could say along with Germany Italy 2006, one of the best match ever. edit: along with Germany Italy 1970, la partida del siglo 😄

There's never been anyone quite like DocSoc. No-one quite looked like him or played like him, with his silky smooth skills in midfield and his centre forward finishing. What a character! A medically - qualified doctor who smoked 60 a day. Just cool as fuck.

I love him to death. While watching him play in 1982 and 1986, I found myself enjoying a fairy dancing, an experience I've never had since. When Brazil lost, I was depressed for a month. I truly hope this guy can win the World Cup - the best midfield player ever. Only Zidane comes close to him.

Ahh Man ! One of most fav player of mine forever ! I clearly remember the the phenomenal Brazilian football team of 1982 led by Socrates ! It was again a very painful day for me and all Brazilian supporters in Bangladesh to see Socrates missing that penalty at the knockout stage game with Italy and Brazil losing it's way ! I literally cried that day it was no exception for millions of other die-hard Brazil supporters in BD. When Brazil comes to the world cup football you will see millions of Brazilian flags waving in stands on the rooftops in different parts of our country. Almost same happens with Argentina Football team. Jogo Bonito for life ! I hate European style tough football.

You’re one of those internet people who doesn’t understand the term underrated and gets their panties in a twist.... To say something is underrated is to say it’s not rated as high as you think it should be or deserves to be. It’s essentially praises the player it’s NOT saying no one rates him
