You are severely underrated! Found your channel through the cube horrors and have been watching more of your stuff! You have a very calming and chill way of talking that is eminently listenable! Look forward to more projects and videos from you!

Love the video dude! Your terrain pieces are awesome, I especially like the catwalk you did in this video. I could totally see something like that in a diorama 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Another thing that's helped me when I hit artblock or fell into a rut was changing games or worlds. Like you, I was also stuck in 40k for a while. If I was doing buildings they were always imperial or tau or something, if it was foliage it was themed on death worlds or nid biology. Recently I've been branching out into more indie games and I started my first Turnip28 army and I forgot what fresh air felt like, but this was a breath of it. I can't recommend enough just branching out and trying to make stuff inspired by weird stuff, or your own worlds, just to stretch the creative muscles that don't see a lot of action in your game of choice, and it'll help you develop skills you didn't know you needed.

I definitely agree with you there! I play a few other tabletop games and have been wanting to try Turnip28. I had a small army and everything but haven't gotten anyone to try it with me. I will definitely keep my eye out for other games as well 😁

@@boxnaught7428 I'm in the same boat. I move right before the pandemic started and still haven't found any new clubs near me and most of my old friends are too far away to play often. Until I find someone to play with, I'm just going to keep up making stuff, and maybe make a second Turnip army to use to lend to people and get them into it, when I eventually find those elusive people. But man, now that I've been introduced to the world of indie ttrpgs and wargames, there's a lot of stuff I want to make. Lancer, FIST, Sludge, so many good things out there.

Awesome video man, im not even done watching. So far I'm at 2:55 I'm already inspired to make some can terrain. I especially like the part about checking out what those 2 KZbinrs do, and looking for inspiration. Thats pretty much why I clicked on this video. I currently plan on making some 3d printable terrain parts meant to work with cans, I also got a bunch of cans in storage. so hopefully soon ill be making some can terrain!

Those looked pretty cool at the end. I always had issues with SEEING the end past the odd shapes and colors of the things I put together, forgetting that once I put paint on it the shape is all that matters. I think I even saw a few parts from 3D printed models, I am guessing failed prints. These always make some of the most interesting parts.

Also at 0:42 what is the black material you are using as a base, and what is the stuff your filling it with. I sometimes see it on videos but I forget the name of both.
@boxnaught7428
@boxnaught7428 Жыл бұрын
The stuff used as a base is a corrugated plastic board. Its basically cardboard made of plastic. As for the filler its just a spackle, i specifically use a spackle that goes on pink and drys white. 🙂

@@boxnaught7428 Epic thank you for the info. Ill hav to get some of that corrugated plastic board. I found cardboard and poster board to warp to easily. Do you have any warping issues with the corrugated stuff? Also what thickness do you sue for the board?
