Soda Lake is a shallow, ephemeral, alkali endorheic lake in the Carrizo Plain in southeastern San Luis Obispo County, California. The lake is located on the southwest side of the northern Carrizo Plain, 103 km east of San Luis Obispo.
Surface elevation: 1,903' (580 m)
Area: 4.633 sq miles (12 km²)

He taste it??did he feel sick after??everytime i drive to santa maria i always go thru 166 n see it always wonderd what was in the water since it looks like fog from the road!do u know why is it like that what history does it have??

Yea.... he tasted it...lol.... he said it tasted like clean salt.....n he didn't get sick.....we even ate food afterwards.... he was ok.. ill find out sum history on it.... ill get back to u with that.... thanks for ur comments
