Same here in ireland , its kind of hilarious to hear old folkes rue losing 6 of the 20 pubs in a town of 2000 XD.
@shaggybaggums Жыл бұрын
In the relatively small mining and textile town I grew up in there were 23 pubs I can name off the top of my head, there were probably more plus the social clubs. After the last couple of decades there's most likely less than half that. I think I caught the end of the time when, with so many people still working in the town they'd either grab a quick pint (or half) on the way home just to say hello, or go out for a couple after having something to eat.

@@thewarriorwraith3556 I get history is nice to learn but its something that shouldn't be shoved down your throat in school and made a big thing to prove you're intelligent. I find history to be something interesting to learn, not something that is going to assist me on getting a job. Most history they teach you anyways is far from what really even happened. Big example. Columbus Day. We celebrate the day a man landed in America. When he actually landed in the gulf of Mexico on the Bahamas. Not only that but he also enslaved the Native Americans of the lands when he went through the Caribbeans on his way back, treating them like animals. Plus 500 years before Columbus was born, a Viking by the name of Leif Eriksson was the one who found America, and he actually landed in America. Edit: Hinga Dinga Dergan

Typical American thinking the world revolves around them. eBay is popular in Australia because up until very recently we didn't have Amazon and even though it exists now, the selection is very limited and everything is overpriced. Every Aussie retailer has an eBay store as well as many private sellers/small business and international sellers so most people look to eBay as a first choice when considering any purchase, myself included.
