thick water is usually thickened with xantham gum. it's in a lot of sauces and drinks (in lower concentration) and is completely harmless to you

7:57 That humongous parmiggiano is what italians use to make AUTHENTIC carbonara. 1. Boil spaghetti. 2. While spaghetti is boiling; lightly brown diced pancetta in fryingpan. 3. Add eggs (2-3 for 1 person) to fryingpan and keep stirring til eggs starts to turn grainy (It's "coagulating"). 4. When eggs and pancetta is somewhat creamy then bring heat to a halt to prepare for the next step. 5. Add the boiled spaghetti to the creamy eggs and lightly browned pancetta. 6. Take a metal spoon and dig a small pit in the center of the cheese. The pit should be big enough to fit 2-3 tablespoons of liquid in it. 7. Light up some cognac in the tablespoon! 8. Pour the flaming cognac into the center of the cheese and stirr as it melts. 9. In this small pool of molten cheese you pour the mixture of spaghetti, eggs and pancetta and stir it. 10. Put mixture of cognac-molten-parmeggiano, spaghetti, creamy eggs and pancetta on a plate. 11. Grind some black pepper on top and serve!
