The rule was primarily created to stop viewers from giving these streamers gold and items and enchants that twink them out. The guy was using the AH as a bank cause he was running out of space. Sure, by the letter off the law he broke the rules. But he didn't violate the spirit of the rule. Murder is illegal, but if you kill someone in self defense you will get acquitted or have a lesser charge and the court will show sympathy. This was a good decision by Soda IMO. If he woulda gkicked this guy it woulda felt wrong imo.

Yet another cringe take from another of Soda’s little minions. “There was never supposed to be a chance he could have kept his character”, yet Soda gave him the chance to keep his character by surviving in the arena. Re-watch the stream and you’ll see Soda say words to the effect of; “we don’t know if he will die or if he will survive”, because chat were crying that he would probably survive and it’s not fair. So, Soda, being the executioner, judge and jury, SENT IN a level 60 to kill him (he didn’t just go in on his own free will). It ruined what was a really really funny and cool bit of content. I don’t even care about the guy who was killed, it’s a matter of the fact Soda claimed he had a chance, which he didn’t cuz he knew he was gonna send in the turbo-virgin to finish him.

So the only options were. 1: Kill the character because the guy cheated. 2: KIck the guy out of the guild for cheating. 3: Give the guy a 1% chance at living in a spot where ANYONE ON THE SERVER can attack him. Who gives a fuck if its someone's hours spent. He signed up for the guild, he knew the rules, and he broke them. His ass was gas regardless. Summits take on this is stupid. There was another option you're missing: •Delete all gold, gear, and take a cowards debuff He decided to take your 3rd quoted option due to the assumption of sodapoppins words meaning "anyone on the server" = not in the guild. Also, he was originally going to take the 4th option above, but the Mizkif wanted content, and it didn't seem like a guild execution at first. But as the event went on, Sequisha's realized he was put into the ring for anyone in the guild (he was originally just going to sprint to the arena before anyone on the server could get there). Anyways, Summit and Sequisha originally had false hope that the punishment wouldn't mean 1st recruiting everyone in the server first, then, throw the cheater in for execution. Anyways, your take on this is wrong because he was originally given a chance to redeem himself, but the guild squashed that slim chance and made it into guild content/execution. This is why people on the outside are mad at the end result because their judicial "trial" was rigged. Sequisha was too busy being used for content to realize he was lied to (even though there was no contract & the rules were evolving as he was walking there). Two wrongs don't make a right. Period.

dude definitely tried to get around the rules. im intrigued you think the only fitting punishment is character death/gkick. i was thinking it would be pretty fitting to lose all of his gold and gear and force him to go naked, probably sets him back about 10+ hours. it also creates a lot less drama and i think still sends a message that the punishment will be massive even for small offenses. im not trying to come off as sarcastic either im just actually curious why those options are the only ones

the facts have to be laid out here -Sequisha cheated. -Sequisha isnt a casual and can recoup the “60 hours” of his lost progress. -Everyone is aware that they will lose their character progress if they die in the Gurubashi Arena, thats why anyone close to his level is apprehensive about dueling him to the death there. -Zeroji was encouraged by his fellow trolls to finish Sequisha off as no one close to his level wants to finish him. -Sardaco is playing more into the racism here and he has privately messaged Zeroji about the RP troll hate. Soda, this is what you should tell the guy. The punishment was NOT "Trial by combat". The punishment was literally "The server gets to decide". It did not say "The level 30-40s will decide the faith of the player". A lvl 60 should have ALL right to kill him. Why? Because he leveled to lvl 60 without cheats, and If it that would have been me, I would totally jump in and kill him. Because, it takes away from all the work that all the others are doing. If ONE player thought "no, that is not okay in this guild, he needs to die" - that player have ALL right to jump in and deal justice. "The server gets to decide" was the first thing you said. It makes NO sense that his cheating would result in another player, at the same level risk their character. No sense at all, what kind of punishment is that? Killing a less skilled player, and then you are free to go? No. Soda even said, when hearing about the idea "Oh so the higher levels player on the server decide his faith? I love it". This is not a hard topic, what the hell.

Summit is completely unhinged. 1 minute he's banging on about the "60 hours" thing as if it's his only issue, next minute he's shitting on Zeroji because him killing the guy and "making it about himself" is the only issue. The "60 hours" argument is a complete non-argument anyway, because it's not like Sequisha is some wagie with a full-time job losing his precious progress in a video game he plays for fun. The guy provided content for his viewers for 60 hours; he lost NOTHING. Hell, he even came out on top because a ton of people are hearing about him for the first time (me included); he's gotten a lot of notoriety for this event. And he's supposed to be punished, LMAO. Then he's just adamant in directing his stupid, misguided hate towards Zeroji, dude dude who was practically forced to do it and was still hella hesitant and nervous, only daring to dip in with a FAP to send his pet in... And for what it's worth, it was actually a pretty great event as an outsider, corny RP notwithstanding. You could feel the tension building all along, and when the LEGENDARY TROLL HERO finally went in to execute Sequisha, they were all pogging out of their minds. Actually, the corny RP made it a lot better, kudos to the trolls. Summit can honestly do one.

The funny thing is, at the end of the day you can still rp this within the trolls. Summits troll is simply a stickler for "fair fights" and hates zeroji the champion for punching down on the lower level regardless of it essentially being a form of public execution/trial by combat. And he will maintain an anti zeroji stance due to the event. If you gameify it and think of it as reputation of characters then pretty much any drama can be blown over through rp. "Summit may become less popular amongst his fellow trolls for disagreeing with the horde, but he remains steadfast in his position even to a fault. Summit the Troll has now gained the title: 'Big Headstrong.' "

I believe that Summit along with several others (including my self at first, actually) got the false idea that the punishment got lesser when Soda changed it from just delete to try to survive for 10min in Gurubashi Arena. When it actually turned out to just be the same or arguably worse because the "delete" just got dragged out and gave a sense of false hope, when the Trolls decide to execute him at the end of him surviving in the arena. And because Summit didn't know at first that Zeroji was "ordered" to execute him, the image of a 60 sweat ruining Sequisha survival got stuck in his mind I think.. I disagree with the excuse that Zeroji was peer pressured. He's a big boy who can make his own decisions. But I also don't understand why Summit is this angry at him and is saying stuff like "how could you take 60 hours away from him like that" and in the same breathe say "I'm cool with the punishment." Clearly he isn't cool with the punishment. The dude purposely cheated, and honestly Soda handed him the easiest way out of both being removed from the event and a lot of the hate he would have gotten from being removed or even if he just simply had to kill his character. At that point who cares what happened, he got off the easiest way possible. It honestly might have ended worse for him with him living from it, cause then you'd get the chatters who think its bullshit that he cheated and got away with it. I'd say the only thing that was disappointing from having a 60 kill him was it ended the content a bit anti-climatically rather than him fighting for his life and eventually getting overwhelmed. But again its better for his character to have died so people can say justice was served and we can move on from it. The pros to Zeroji killing him is there isn't risk to other people's characters involved. Cause that's what Summit is suggesting even if he doesn't realize it, potentially wiping away other people's precious progress.

@ bro it was just for fun for an execution who tf cares? Why is it so deep for you? It didn’t involve anyone even in the drama besides ZEROJI and Sequisha. Until soda mentions how a large portion of people wanted zeroji to do it because they didn’t wanna risk the chance of dying to sequisha if other people didn’t jump in right away. Zeroji agreed to do it not out of peer pressure but because it could be good content, his only worry was the undead raid killing him. The peer pressure argument summit makes is pointless which is why soda goes “PeEr PReSSurE?!” 😂 cuz it very clearly isn’t that, I was simply saying it’s hilarious in summit’s(a grown ass 35+ year old man) head the person who got peer pressured is to blame, and regardless of freedom of choice, why be mad at that guy and not the people chanting around him to do it at the same time? Why single it ONE person to have a problem with when multiple people are involved? It’s childish.

Before this discussion, I felt Summit a bit. But I hate how he argues. Summit is being so obtuse by not realizing that Soda's entire point is how Summit's words have a lot of weight. Streamers need to be mindful of the influence they have over their viewers and how easy it is to instigate an angry mob on the internet. "So I'm not allowed to dislike the guy" is a motte and bailey fallacy, and the "60 hours" argument is nonsense for a number of reasons. It's not like Sequisha lost those hours to the void. He got huge content and experience out of those hours Sequisha's punishment (death) was lenient. He willfully and flagrantly cheated. A gkick would have been fair That said, I don't love how Zeroji randomly ran down and killed the 37 warrior and 34 warlock who fought Sequisha, while they were running away

From a completely unbiased point of view I can understand both of their arguments. Soda's point of view is that a player cheated and instead of kicking him they made a fun and entertaining event out of it and when the cheater was killed, justice was served. Summit's point of view isn't about if the player who cheated should have been killed, but the way he was killed. I have no skin in the game, I don't watch a ton of Soda or Summit so because of that I can be completely unbiased when I say that I honestly think Summit has a good point. Yes at the end of the day you can say other players forced Zeroji to jump in and kill the cheater however at the end of the day it was his decision to do it. As far as I am aware no one was pointing a gun to his head or controlling his keyboard so he ultimately just could have said he wasn't going to do it. Summit is saying that because he made the decision to do it that he doesn't like it, which is completely fair. I do think cheaters should be punished and thought the arena was actually very interesting however I do think the situation could have been handled better.

I think everyone is aware that Summit has a "good point" and that the situation could've been handled better. The problem is not Summit disagreeing with how it went down, the problem is him creating out of game drama about it and flaming Zeroji as a person, player, and streamer. That shit is awkward and he's acting like a child. I've watched both of them plenty, but I've watched a lot more Summit over the course of several more years than I've been following Soda, and this shit is downright cringeworthy from Summit's end because of how he went about expressing his opinion. If he brought up his problems like an adult and suggested how future situations like this could've been better without being an inflammatory, angry dickhead about it, no drama would exist.

8:48 The opinion isn't the problem here, the problem is the fact that Summit publicly started talking shit and sent hate to Zeroji even though he has a larger following. On the matter of Sequisha cheating: Soda gave him a chance by sending him to the arena instead of deleting the character outright. What I do wonder is if Summit would react the same if it wasn't Zeroji who deleted Sequisha's character and it was Soda instead. I can only assume things here because it looks like Summit has something personal against Zeroji because Summit's arguments don't make any sense. It's almost like Summit can only see one side of things and are dead-set that Zeroji is the problem because... why???

I get Summit's point, but I really don’t understand why people are so quick to throw out hateful comments. That aside, there are some key details missing from this video. Initially, the cheater was given options instead of being kicked from the guild: either take the coward debuff and delete all their stuff or delete their character and start over. Later, the coward debuff offer was taken back, and instead, they were told to take their chances in the arena, which made it seem like there was at least a shot at a chance to live. I agree it was awesome to watch up to that point, but when the level 60 stepped in, it completely killed the vibe. At that stage, they might as well have just told the cheater to delete their character outright. What the cheater actually did was disable their addon and use the auction house to store items. Honestly, this doesn’t seem like a massive offense, especially considering T1 was caught cheating and only had to delete the item they gained-it feels inconsistent (edit: debunked regarding T1, but my point regarding the type of offense remains, as Soda only thought T1 was cheating and at the time only asked to delete the item)? The whole situation seems like it was orchestrated to create content around cheating, which is ironic given that Soda explicitly said he wasn’t going to do that. Soda also points out the hate the level 60 might receive because of Summit, but by creating this video and fueling the drama, it’s actually Summit who’s likely to end up taking most of the backlash (just take a look at all the comments, Soda, common). I also didn’t like how Soda joined Summit’s stream and called him, saying, “Explain how you feel, and I’ll explain how you’re wrong.” That approach is bound to put anyone on the defensive right away and completely dismisses Summit’s right to his own point of view. At the end of the day, neither side comes out of this and they should next time agree to NOT cover content on cheating.
