I find it odd how halo 3 odst and halo reach are the only two games with fire fight... And then I realized. The convenient.. never wholly made it past reach... Like they were staled.. and they were staled hard by the odst, rise of the flood, rise of the Banished. Let alone the casualties a handful of Spartans could cause.. And then wonder why we don't see flood infection form's in halo infinity... Well basically.. human had the time to deal with the flood before it could become a problem.. The flood basically united the covenant with humanity. And those oblivious to the flood. On the covenants side became part of the Banished.. I assume the Banished was something building up from the very start of the covenant... I'm mean... An all controlling superpower... Like that can't go wrong in anyway... Well examples of it going wrong... Look at any one of the global superpowers history.. and realize.. that's what I just mentioned..

Seeing several different tech advanced ancient humans. All that untapped gold. That would make billions. Halo is a Universe that steps to Star Wars and Startrek level. But agendas are priority🙄

@@Solarius1983 343 haven't had a clear direction since they inherited the franchise, bouncing from plot to plot with each new game, they've retconned so much shit entirely unnecessarily that it begs the question of why they even exist if they can't handle working off the plot that already existed from Bungie's days (though to be fair, Bungie had issues with that too, given that the books exist and don't play nice with the canon in the games), and they're following right along with the industry trend of "we don't have to bother polishing our games or finishing them before they release, that's what patches are for". That's not to mention the season passes, whether it's them implementing scummy bullshit or rewriting something that was already perfectly functional because they feel like they could do better? I guess? To put it in Halo terms, 343 have failed to properly uphold the Mantle of Responsibility. I've always found it weird how a two thousand pound spartan can casually climb into a warthog without flipping it over or walk on stairs. The warthog might be counter balanced by the turret, but the turret itself cant be more than 700-900 lbs.
@TotallyDapper Жыл бұрын
The camera shakes as the Spartans walk past is visible in some other places too, notably when the team is walking up to the defenses on the last scene. You can also see the entire Falcon lean to one side and then rock when the Spartan gets out of the pilot seat. So much love went into this!

This was the end. "C'MON, SPARTAN! GIVE EM HELL!" The man inside swung his rifle up again, and laughed madly as he held the trigger. Time was slow here. The Spartan was, dying. His medical readout said it. He felt it. A plasma bolt embedded itself into the ODST's throat. His laughter cut off, rifle walking into the sky, clicking empty, as his body fell. The Spartan raised the pistol. The woman backing them up threw her last grenade, and began turning to engage another threat. Two rounds struck her in the sternum, armor boiling red and white, though she still managed to pull the trigger back before another took her in the visor. The handgun thundered. Time was slow here. One's shield sparked and shattered, a third round sinking into his maw. A second's shield flashed orange brittle, before the Sangheili bashed the pistol from his hand. The sword came down, down, down... The moment came after a year of waiting.

We deserved it alright. There's been a severe lack of well-done fan-made halo animations and such. At least in comparison to other franchises in a similar stature. (Warhammer, Starwars, Doom, Half-Life) To top it all off, we've got the most unorganized, benighted and outright incompetent studio currently responsible for Halo. While other studios responsible for said franchises also have serious issues that cause their community headache after headache, they at least get far more regular content that is more often than not much more authentic to the series than what Halo has gotten the past years. 343 has tried to turn and twist the image of Halo for no other reason than "We're not bungie". A waste of a studio that have misunderstood their purpose, instead striving to alienate the audience they were left with. So to be honest, I'd say if there's any community that deserves to have content like this made, Halo is definitely one of them

Watched this with each part uploaded and now after watching it again in its entirerty i realize what it was. God damn, talk about amazing
@paigepolaris1799 Жыл бұрын
You just made the ending of Halo Reach 100x more special, by showing us that the MAC cannon cruiser takedown and Pillar Of Autumn takeoff would have been seen for miles around, by both the covenant and surviving UNSC. Most of the human forces knew they probably weren't making it off the planet alive at that point, but they bought *just enough* time for another ship to get away. And most of the covenant might've been surprised to see a *whole cruiser* go down so late in the invasion, when they'd wiped out almost all of the human forces and ships even capable of doing that, when they'd basically *already won.* There were so many great action/character beats in this video, like that ODST in the rain with the matching OST, and the Silent Shadow elites (the covenant got just as much love as the UNSC!) Just the fact that you animated AT LEAST over a hundred character models over god knows how many shots & sequences... This is up there with the most passionate Halo fan works ever made, if not at the top of the list. Even if you go on to animate other things and never make another piece of Halo content ever again, I wish you the best. Keep going!

I come back to this short film every once in a while. As a long time fan of Halo, I can't help but enjoy how much loving detail was put into this, from the use of in-game sounds, to the cinematography that highlights the different experiences of the Battle for Reach from different perspectives. Hell even just the small touches like the use of "Deference for Darkness" on the ODST in the rain, it's more an easter egg than anything, but it captures an idea that we all experienced together. And yet what's most impressive is the use of characterization without words. The marines perking up as a Spartan walks by, the way an Elite watches a Spartan die with a brutal manner of respect, to the way the ODST's react to different Spartans. The latter alone gives us the notion that to the ODST's, the Spartan in white was basically one of their own at that point, and they repaid that respect within only a short 25 minute animation. To do so much storytelling with small things in such a time is a testament to the skill of the film maker. So perhaps a bit long-winded way to say, SODAZ is quite skilled, and this is the love and dedication a fan of the series loves to see.

You’ve given the world something really special with this animation. Halo is one of my favorite franchises of all time, and this animation reminded me just how special it is.

Thanks for reminding me why the Halo universe was such a treat for a younger me. You captured the grounded yet exotic vibe of the universe perfectly :D

It’s so freaking cool to see Spartans and ODSTs working together. Edit: The Halo Reach soundtrack on this is also absolutely amazing. I love it.

Even the Marines. It was awesome seeing them not treated as chaff and more as actual resourceful allies.

A lot of people put it better than I could. But the ability to let you feel the raw emotion each marine, odst, and Spartan were going through up until 6 hits the cruiser was astounding. Being able to connect to 6 hitting the cruiser and the pillar of autumn go off with chief and Cortana gave me a feeling I haven’t had in 14 years! Shameful paramount showed the fall of reach in one episode. Thank you!

I haven't felt this way about halo since anything from the bungie era. I think I can collectively say this is what we've all wanted from a halo game. Animation, sound and story was all amazing. Not to mention the ending really pulled it all together . I've never donated to anything before or even commented on any video but this is more than deserving. Well done.

Any halo fan will understand that this is truly a work of art and an exemplary homage to the halo franchise. I've been keeping up with every WIP and it's still satisfying to see the full product. From the coordination of the ODSTs to the weight and power of the spartans and elites, this is one of the most lore-accurate depictions of combat in the halo universe.

You don't need those big Studios/Companies that only want to screw you over. You got us, your fans to back you up. From one Halo Fan to another, you are loved and much respected. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to making content that the community hungers for. You even put Paramount+'s Halo series to utter shame!

I don't think I've seen much of anything that could compare to this. This is... Absolutely phenomenal. Every moment was amazing, and the ending was truly something else all together. Words will never be able to adequately describe how stunning and beautiful this film is. Hot damn.

There is more love and care in these 25 minutes than there were in the two abysmal seasons of Paramount's attempt. This is why projects like this should be put in caring fan's hands, because you get something amazing.
