Easily bored, prone to mischief, + the way Bill had to cope with the temporary loss of Bill reminds me of the way a child would react to the loss of a close friend. I see most of the tank engines as kid engines, so to speak. All tank engines that are up to mischief, to be exact. Like Thomas and Percy in their classic forms or Duck a bit because he shows a little bit of that tank engine sense of teasing.

This is one of my favorite episodes because this episode has something that not even the ORIGINAL SERIES had. This episode has both the Scottish twins and china clay twins interacting with each other. Albeit it's just one twin from both pairs, the fact remains is that they're interacting with each other, I've never seen that happened in the original series before, and i tip my hat to you. Thank you for making one of my biggest desires come true.

Steam engine parts? buffers and siderods? Hmmm, I wonder if.... Felt as sickened as Ben was when I saw that a container had actually fallen on Bill, a nasty accident mentioned in the series trailer lived up to its name. Great moral towards the end btw, having Ben learn a lifelong lesson about being an engine is something we rarely see :)

Very well handled. Sure we've had seperation tv episodes in the past where both sets of twins got separated over a fall out but it's certainly different to actually bring in unforeseen circumstances into the equation. What Douglas said to Ben was a nice touch :)

All my years of being a Thomas fan I wanted bill and ben to have some kind of interaction with Donald and Douglas. This was perfect I enjoyed this episode, as always.

Another new engine?! Wait... that isn't right. What's going on in the works? Anyway, the story itself is really emotional and it shows how different both sets of twins are, but very similar too. And this was a great way to show both tank engine twins being able to work apart for later episodes.

My first theory is that the 'mystery engine' at the Steamworks could be Rowan, seeing he will have a cameo in Season 1. My second theory is that it could be related to the email Emily Hatt received at the end of 'The Missing Engine.'

What I think,is that the new parts are needed for Lilly's restoration!They must have found her on the part of the watertight compartment of the ship.But it might just be a new engine,I've seen on the wiki you have lots of other charectors planned.

Wait, how does an engine qualify as twins? There are multiple engine of the same class, like with Spencer and Mallard or with Bear and Spamcam, so would don't they qualify as twins.

I imagine it would be because they were built around the same time, just like non-identical human twins are born at the same time. You'd really need to ask Rev. Wilbert Awdry that, though, as he was the one who made them (and Donald & Douglas) twins.

The way I see it, albeit not canonically confirmed, if two engines are built by the same person/people, they are cousins (like Gordon and Spencer). If they are the same class, they "graduate" to being siblings (like Gordon and Scotsman). If they are together in the workshops being built at any point, like, say they started building Ben when they were just finishing Bill, they still count as twins.

MainLineEngine112 I would say that makes lots of sense, and that might be cannon. In the RWS, there is a story where Skarloey tells of his first year(s) on the Crovans Gate narrow gauge railway. He and his real life counterpart Tallyn were refered to, by the workmen at the engine works, as twins. The same with Rheneas and Dolgoch, being twins. And on the topic of engines as cousins, if they were built by the same person/designer and in the same class, (Gordon and Spencer are of the A Class pacifics, with Gordon A1 and Spencer A4)
